I have registered a domain name with yahoo. Soon I'm going to lease a server and transfert the DNS records to it. I've been reading a WHM documentation but I'm still confused on how to set up name servers, a hostname for my server once I have access to it using WHM. IS there any clear tutorials out there that can help me set up all those on the server before I transfert the DNS records from yahoo !

As a side note - do NOT (repeat - DO *NOT*) rent a server if you're a complete newbie in server administration. OR - get a sysadmin to do such (and similar) things for you, for a (high) fee.

There are too many, rather complex issues involved in server administration (most important - it's security) that a newbie can't do efficiently. Rather, powerup a server at home, read, read, read, learn, learn, learn... When you'll think that you're at least good at this - THEN it's time to rent the dedicated.

THEN you must be aware how to manage zone files and named.conf.
