Hey, I am launching a new hosting company soon and I was curious what you guys thought would be the best way to invest my ad dollars? Although I am sure for those of you who have your strategies, you won't want to release them, and thats understandable. I am not looking for your exact strategies, but maybe some advice or a push in the right direction? The hosting company I formerly owned / sold had hundreds of clients and gross'd a few thousand, yet I spent 0$ on advertising; I dont think I could do it again lol which leaves me flat out of luck for extensive marketing experience. Anyway...figure estimates, resource suggestions again would be very much appreciated guys :). I look forward to chatting with you all. :lovewht:

You can start presenting your service as specialized and plan for targetting specific community of interests of your niche market.

I think he was trying to say that no one is going to give away thier marketing ideas to him.Not at all.

Everyone is probably getting annoyed at all the "where should I advertise?" threads. Do a search on here, there's literally hundreds of threads with the answers. Most say the same thing - local.

Seriously, you don't have to look far for the answers. Searchy is your friend! (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php) :D

Any advertising method you choose it will need research, money, time, and overall your attention and patience.

Do a search! WHT has a lot to offer! :)

It's like a public library. And you won't be sorry with the results. Good luck in your business. All the best! :)

Asking other people in your same industry marketing strategies is not a good idea. My advice? Don't advertise online unless you feel like spending a whole lot of money and getting a 2-10% return maximum.

I wish you luck, but, I'd reccomend traditional marketing books so you can learn how and why things do and do not work.

You could try posting intelligent post on webmaster forums with your company in your signature. If you have something good and detailed to say it will bring you visitors and turnover

The problem with those is that you can spend massive amounts and still only get a ROI of only a few tenths or hundredths of a %. Not good if you're on a limited budget.

Like Hostfrog said, your best bet is to go local on ads for start up at least. You might find you can keep growing just on your local area or a bit further afield than that.

Try targeting specific rather than general, and take the initiative and contact businesses which dont have websites around your area which could benefit from them. Dont forget to know your sales pitch before you get in touch though - ...your website could benefit from a website hosted by xxxxx because ... etc.

And make it personal to them. Sell yourself not just your space, because most people are more worried about the technical difficulties of the website not the cost.

Hope that helps

Mike
