I think I will agree with StarHost. Also, I know content does not matter.....but it says "Add $20.00 for Free Logo"......if the buyer has to add $20.00, how is it a free logo???

Thank you all for the comments and suggestions.

logicalw,

The $20 will cover the source file (.psd) for the logo. If you don't want the source file for the logo, well, the logo will be free. No need to add $20. Sorry, I miss to explain that one.

vibehosts and numlock,

The navigation menu are all texts (with some CSS). Well, if you feel it is not that good, would you care suggesting which type of menu system you think is appropriate. You may point out an example.

Starhost,
And, what do you think is missing? What makes it bussy?

We are open to any type of criticism. We just need you guys to be honest and point it out. And it will be appreciated if you can really pinpoint what is wrong with the design and not just comment on it. If you feel that something is not good in it, what do you think will make it good?

The template can be improved using your constructive and helpful comments.

Thank you very much.

EDIT: We keep on seeing some comments about some templates being not professional. We really would like to know what makes a template professional. It seems that there is no clear cut rule on this. Will someone educate us on what professional template should look like? And from your discussion, maybe we can learn.
Thank you.

:)

I like your work with logos, but this template looks 5 years old.

The question you have to ask is would you buy from a company with this design?

It's abit to expensive for the cheap skates around here.

Work wise it's worth $50 and I know it's the same old... I was just saying that I would want to buy from the "same old" company. $100 is very high, for the "design".

The ability to create a "professional" web site (or template) is what seperates businesses from kids with a copy of frontpage working in their basement.

As you suspected, there is no formula for professional design. If there was, everyone would be a web designer.

In depth understanding of color theory, typography, the use of space, and marketing will go a long ways to refining someone with inate design sense.

That said, I agree with others who have stated that this design is not worth what you're selling it for. I don't know what sites you look at for inspiration... but I'd start a new list.

Ok, here is my opinion:

Too blue in the filling, this is how you should change it:
in the light blue box of navigation you should smoothen it - carve the edges so they are rounded.
Then make it light blue that fades into white, and inside that white (or instead of the white + the fade) put navigation buttons.
You should remove the blue stripe at the top, and try to connect the nav bar to the actual layout somehow, maybe through some fading or fiddling with effects.
The content box, should not be all light blue.
The border should be a medium-wide line of light blue fading into white, and in the white add some content box.
also, remove the yellow banners, they make the site look noisy like a room of a teenager with stop signs all in it. just my opinion.
best regards,

Eyal

Thank you very much for the comments and suggestions.

The "new" designer is taking note of your opinions. Be straight and direct about it. We are willing to take it. All we ask is you keep us in the right direction. And after all these objective or even subjective criticisms, we can revise this template and come up with something that will look better and more professional.

Eww... those are horrible colors for a professional looking layout. If you want to create something that everyone is going to like, then you need to find someone who has a good sense of colors, and ways of presenting your information.

Thanks for pointing out the colors JedKent. And for being specific about it.

We will be glad to accept more suggestions.
