Dreamweaver seems to be having trouble figuring out the "always on top" feature of modal dialog boxes. Instead they pop up BEHIND the window, making them completely invisible. Yet you have to click something to get rid of the box and resume using the program. So I end up frantically clicking escape, enter, Y, and N hoping that the one that ends up clearing the dialog box won't harm my code somehow.
This problem is most common with the "Save as" dialog, and also occurs with the "Checked out by other user" dialog and at least one other one that I can't remember offhand.
Sometimes I don't even know which message it is, so I have to guess how to cancel it, then move the document window all the way to the bottom of the screen so only the title bar shows. Then when the message pops up, I can see enough of it to drag it to an open space in the desktop.
This has persisted for months, even through a couple reinstalls of DW and a complete reinstall of Windows XP. I think this problem happened in DW 6.0 (original pre-patch MX version) as well, but that was a long time ago so I'm not too sure.
I have a dual-monitor extended desktop setup, with the site window maximized on the secondary screen and the document windows usually sized to 800x600-ish on the primary screen. Could that have anything to do with it?
Anyone know what's going on here? I've googled every keyword I can think of that might be related to this, and found nothing.
