Hi,

My distributor installed CPanel/WHM on my new server yesterday evening, and gave me a notification through ICQ that I could visit it through http://IP:2086
That's all he said!
I was wondering what the login info was, but he's offline right now and in a total different time-zone. :(
So I was wondering if there's some sort of "standard" login that is created with a new CPanel install?
like admin:password or something

Please let me know asap. Also if you'd just be able to tell me what the username is, I'd be thrilled. :)

Thank you once again. ;)

arggg...

The only what I can say you is that the Main-Username is "root" . Ah Standart-Password does not exist and I think its better so, otherwiese every Hacker will have Access on your Server bevor you have the Time to access it and change the Password.

Does your Provider has no 24h Support who can help you ?

Now you can only wait when he goes online and can say you the Password.

Dont forget to change also the Password of the Admin-User ! I did never had a need of this Account but its still important that you also change from Time to Time also the Password of this User-Account. A good Addition to WHM/CPanel is WebMin (http://www.webmin.com/)

Sounds like you got a bad distributor or something, you use the servers root password as well as the login name of "root" (minus quotes) to access WHM :)

hmmm.. did I miss something in your comment ? even the whm-user-manual say that the main-login-account is the root-account -) To login to your WebHost Manager go to http://youripaddresshere:2086 or https://youripaddresshere:2087 for secure socket access. Your login is root, and the password is your root password. (- I use everytime the https-Version.
