Hi,

I am looking to offer free web space to a few people on my domain, it would look like membername.mydomain.com

I know how to setup the subdomains, but I want to offer a WYSIWYG Editor to them to use.

I would want to control the amount of disk space they use, put ads on their site, as well.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

You may want to install some free control panel such as
Webmin: http://www.webmin.com
VHCS: http://www.vhcs.net/new/

to put ads automatically on their sites, just use mod_rewrite

You can get more information on providing free web hosting at freewht.com, they're all much more specialized with the whole market.
