Uh, make sure you search for users' experience with Yahoo! as a registrar. There are plenty here at WHT. That's all I'm going to say...

Who is the best domain service provider ?Registrars are like shoes, there's NO "best" shoe. Althought they are handmade works of art, you wouldn't want to run a marathon in a pair of $1,000 handmade, custom J.B. Hill Cowboy boots (see www.JBHillTexas.com ). That would just make your feet swell up bigger than a cow's udder that hasn't been milked in three days. :eek2:

And that's about how your head can feel when you've found you've signed up with the wrong registrar.

Seriously, you have to find the domain name registrar that fits your needs at the price you are willing to pay. I have yet to find a "perfect" or even "best" registrar. But, I can recommend www.Name.com for a good $5.99 transfer in special (as with most promotions, you have to realize that the second year is more at $8.99).

NameCheap.com has also been pretty good, too, and consistent with me... but no transfer in specials that I know of (other than free whoisguard).

Anyway, they've both been pretty good to me lately.

Best of luck! ;)

it seems you don't really get what they are saying, so i'll be the one to break you the bad news; Don't move your name to yahoo, there are so many bas story every day about how bad they are (yahoo) that it will take you a day to read all!

tha good news; they are telling you to use this forum to search for past post about yahoo and to do a search for the best company that fit your needs right.

This is not a registrar transfer. Your domain name registration will remain with your registrar, and you'll still be responsible for domain name fees and renewal with your current provider.

can't transfer to yahoo

I don't know, but my guess is that Yahoo's reasoning is that if you are already familiar with the concept of transferring a domain in hopes of finding better service, they know that you are not likely to find it with them. Yahoo makes its money from attracting first time customers to a familiar name and relying on inertia for renewals to make those accounts profitable.
