Their must be a way to rebill each month. I've notice a few resellers using swreg.

The only way i can think, is use a Php, Perl, Asp script. Hooked upto a cron job, to resend the order through each month. But to do this you will need SSL access.

Some resellers offer you use of their SSL area in the form of https://theirprivatedomain.com/~yourname. So i guess its just a game of checking it out.

Any other users had any experiance with swreg, and recurring billing ?

we use a package called accounts online. it handles invoicing and receipts and the rebill length is admin definable.

they also have an ecommerce gateway plugin.

The PHP script will run MySQL, but it wont be two hard to convert to other database backends.

I'm contacting SWReg, to see if their intrested in me programming a Win/Linux front-end for swreg, so customers can take telephone orders and mail orders themselfs. Here in the UK, we dont have a service like ProPay, so if SW-Reg will allow this, it could be benificial, to all Nebie-Webhosts and Software developers alike.

I'll start work on a front end PHP/MySQL. Just reading through swreg's tech papers to see how to put it all together. And ill get back to you on the Win/Linux front-end

Which btw : Will be coded in C++ for cross platform ( Win, Linux, Apple and Mac etc )

I must of missed this, although! Funny enough when you add a product to your product list, theirs an classification of Web Hosting.

As for a API Backend, it would not be classed under any of the above, as its just used for orders, not spaming, harvesting e-mail addys etc. It just process's a users order.

Im creating the PHP at the moment. This has to be allowed, as they give you a base script in the members section of their site, as for the Win API, im still awaiting a responce from their support team.

Scripts Process so far: -

Take input from user, store in database.
Send input to SWReg, and receave responce.

I'v also got the outlay of the third script, which is executed depending upon what responce is sent back. E.g *Sucsess* *Failed* *Server Error* *Declined* Etc.

Anyway, I think you have to ask Steve from SWREG first. Last time we talked about processing webhosting orders, he wasn't enthusiastic over it.

I've already sent them an e-mail regarding my API's (win based and php based ) so ill wait and see the out come of that first.

It does not change the fact that i know of loads of web hosts using SWReg, and they do have the option to class your product as web hosting.

If the system is not open about accepting web hosting, why have a classification for it.

The way i see it, is running web hosting though his system would be benificial to him. Unlike software, its repaid every month ( More Money Their Way ) Unlike software, its not refunded ( unless you run a guarentee ) So they keep the money they make etc.

I've just searched the main page, FAQ and Terms. And found noting telling users they prefered not to have customers that where web hosts.

But found loads of refrences to tools, plugins and utilitys to use if you are a web host.

Yes, I'm using it myself, since i have a small number of orders. :D But keep in mind that your account may be suspended at any time. :rolleyes:
