The forums would be where users of that Web host can post a question and then another user (or possibly someone from the Web host) would post an answer...
Thanks.
Thanks.

AussieHosts 05-08-2002, 08:37 AM You could try: http://www.centralinfo.net http://forum.centralinfo.net The forums are pretty quiet though. But the staff do get in there from time to time. We used centralinfo for well over 12 months up until the end of last year, and their service is pretty rock solid. I don't recall any downtime at all. They have the only completely automated online signup and account configuration that I know of for Win NT, which you can build into your own website (if you were interested in reselling for them, that is). Cheers Gary WHIS 05-08-2002, 09:13 PM http://www.openhosting.co.uk Its a busy forum with really helpful people. They help with tons of stuff. Pretty much anything to do with computers though the forum has specifics for PHP, ASP, SQL etc. AussieHosts 05-08-2002, 09:53 PM He specifically asked for Win NT mate. Openhosting runs Win2K servers. Cheers Gary Bullschmidt 05-08-2002, 10:14 PM He specifically asked for Win NT mate. Openhosting runs Win2K servers. True but I actually meant Win NT in the generic sense of Win NT/Win 2K so perhaps I should have just said Windows... :) ADEhost 05-08-2002, 11:44 PM Originally posted by Editor You could try: They have the only completely automated online signup and account configuration that I know of for Win NT, which you can build into your own website (if you were interested in reselling for them, that is). Cheers Gary Hi Gary, ( have not spoke to you in a long time, hope everything is fine ) Well that's not 100% correct Gary, any h-sphere reseller can have autosignup's and approvals. it's just the Fraud Factor that most windows guys have to deal with ( just like the unix people ). I'll grant you this, autosignup with approval is nice, but way to risky for me. I prefer the autosignup only. Mike AussieHosts 05-09-2002, 12:33 AM Hey there Mike. Things are good mate. Hopefully the same with you. H-Sphere only supports Win2K. My initial reply was regarding Win NT. We used to have developers who specifically wanted one or the other. The way in which Win NT handles custom COM objects and such. *shrug* Cheers Gary ADEhost 05-09-2002, 12:53 AM Originally posted by Editor Hey there Mike. Things are good mate. Good point you bring up about NT. but from understanding it, I thought that last date for it was 2004, then MS is no longer supporting it because it will be at the end of it's life cycle. ( win 95 last date is next year, and win 98 is 2005 from the last documents I read back in 2001 ), I would think that developers are dropping away from the NT platform and moving to the win2k platform ( life cycle is to 2008 ). but still a good point. have a good and safe season mike WHIS 05-09-2002, 08:53 AM NT5 is Win2K plus when talking about forums there won't be any difference even if you are talking about NT4. Openhosting is one of those "don't hear about much but have what it takes" type hosting companies. I never hear anything but good words about them. I host a domain with them but don't use it anymore. I'm keeping it active just to stay in the forum. :) |
