Hi,

What do you think about the slogan "Web Hosting To the Net"?
I'm not a native English speaking person, so I can't value it  Thanks!

Doesn't really make sense to me. Unless web hosting was previously available on a non-internet environment. :p

Thanks NetXL.

Any other opinions?

I'm with NetXL on this one. It doesn't quite make sense.

Although, I do think I know what you mean.

How 'bout, "Web Hosting to the Max", that might be more understandable?

first feeling I got was " hu? "

this is the problem with that slogan

web hosting = the net
so you are repeating it.

the first feeling I think you desire is " that's for sure " or " you are right"

a good slogan you could use is

" big service, big servers, fast pipe and affordable hosting "

the above is slogan I created but got tossed because of a few better ones ( try creating about 20 slogans, then refine and toss a few away, then have a cigar, chat with folks, then look at your slogans again )

Initial reaction was confusing.
It really doesn't make sense.

I guess you gotta get used to it :D

As a native English speaker, it seems OK to me. One adjustment, change "to" to "for". That is, "Web hosting for the net".

Now, just because I say it sounds OK to me, doesn't mean that it makes sense. I've seen lots of slogans that really don't make sense, but they sound good. In fact, a number of firms that post here and advertise here have slogans that don't make sense when you really think about them.

It seems to me that a slogan should be catchy and make you think. It's happened to me before that I've seen a catchy slogan, and only later did I start thinking about how it didn't make sense. I guess the slogan did it's job because I was thinking about it.

It's sort of like this slogan: "Putting your web site on our server!" :)

Yep, I agree with the guys on this one that it seems to be a repition of the words "web hosting". After all, web hosting IS the net, isn't it? ;)

Something along the lines of "community web hosting" will make more sense, which I somehow feel is what you are trying to convey. Correct me if I'm wrong.

But probably I just have an old-school point of view, from having been a 'net user before there was a "world wide web."

Sometimes, not exactly making sense, makes it a bit more catchy (though I can't think of any examples off-hand. I don't believe this is one of those times unfortunately, sorry. What exactly are you trying to convey?

WH2 =

W= web, whale, wanted, wonderful, wacky .... look arond your area and work up the letter W

H = house, home, handy, hosting .....

well I got this whalehosting too dot net ( nice logo you can make whale with a fisherman casting his net, or a whale and an inside image of a person with a laptop over candle light reading his e-mail )

webhouse two dot net ( call it the second comming )

my favorite and kinda slangish

what happen 2 logo a guy with a black eye, the character looks like a hacker so that way you present safety or a net over someone.

please forgive my ideas, they have a slant for TV broadcasting. I'm not very good with print media

As an English-speaker I think "Web-hosting ON the Net" makes more sense.

However WH2 conveys the idea to me of the mathematical figure "squared" (eg 12 squared or 12(2) = 144) so to me the WH2 = 'Web-hosting squared' or extra value ie more than just any old single web-hosting business. :D
