I want to set up a secondary dns server for some hosting clients that are using cpanel.

I could not find any official hook for this so far. What I did find that almost works is to hook into whostmgr/bin/dnsadmin the only problem is this file is often overwritten so my changes don't stick.

So, my question is, does anyone know of a better way to support this?

Could try Out

Latest WHM for DNS SERVERS ONLY installer:
http://layer1.cpanel.net/cpanel-universal-dnsonly-install.sea

Yeah, that is my next step probably to intall the dns only cpanel on a VPS then see if I can figure out what the protocol it is using and duplicate it. I not only don't want to run cpanel even the dns only one but can't since I am running NetBDS which is not a supported platform for the DNS secondardies.

I still was hoping Cpanel had a reasonable official hook for this like DirectAdmin and Hsphere do.
