Hi Guys,

In the past, Cobalt Servers became real big and were known to be easy to use servers, but I have noticed that not as many people (hosts) are using them anymore, plus they go for cheap on Ebay (so I figure, the demand is not there anymore). I am just wondering if other people also think that the Cobalt RAQ is going by the wayside or maybe I am just ignorant and haven't noticed all the hosts that still use it.

Are the older RAQ's still good to use for smaller hosting (not as many sites)?

Sun EOL'd the product line in 2003. They are old, but still get the job done. Security can be an issue due to the customized kernel and drivers, and older versions of the standard apps, but for basic hosting on an easy-to-admin platform it's still hard to beat them.

You can get Cobalt UI ease of use on modern hardware via BlueQuartz. Get the OS Restore CD image at www.nuonce.net
