View Full Version : Any experience with call centers or the like?

Currently we offer a 1-800 number for sales and support but we are considering setting up a seperate system for support calls. Rather than field them ourselves and be available for those support calls 24/7 we are thinking about using some type of call center. I am not sure if something like this is even available, we want to provide the support ourselves so we are not interested in options like bobcares.com but rather, just an outsourced solution to handle the initial phone call. The way I would see this happening is we would have a unique 1-800 number at the call center so when people called for support the person on the other end of that line would be able to answer with my company name. They would speak to the customer, take down his problem and enter all the necessary information into our ticket system for us to take care of.

Does anyone have any idea if a service like this exists? Has anyone tried something like this?

This is something like 2checkout uses at night. I would be interested too in some information.

There are many companies that do this kind of thing. You'd probably find them by searching google (or wherever) for "answering service." Most answering services today are able to access your website or ticket system while they are on the line with a caller.

Any telephone answering service can do this.

I was hoping for a service specifically geared towards ISP's and Web Hosting companies so when they speak with customers to get there information, they sound like they know what they are talking about.

Be prepared to pay big money for call center services.

They don't come cheap.

Considering the quality of phone rep that I've experienced when calling most large service companies like phone companies, etc., I'm not too enthused with the idea of outsourcing to a call center.

Huh??

We have a call center?

Damn, wish someone woulda informed me that I could take a night or 2 off and watch the playoffs.

Our Office may be closed (and have an Answering service), but Fraud, Sales and Tech Support are "live" and answered by 2checkout, not by a 3rd party.

No one told you?

We're utilizing a company called YourAnsweringService based in California. They cover the phone calls during the late evening hours. The basic service rate is great but be prepared to absorb some substantial costs if your call volume is high. :(

I'll be happy to pass on some more contact information if anyone needs it.
