Hi all,

I'm new using WHM... and we just move from using a shared package to a dedicated server at liquidweb... I've been usign cPanel for a while, but is totally diferent from using WHM...

My question are about setting up our domain name.. i'm not sure abuot a few things..

1- I need to setup our hostname (papasandbeer.com)... when I first logon I added an A entry (the system ask for it after logon) for the domain host.papasandbeer... so, the option for add the main domain is "Add DNS Zone" or do i need to add a new account... if someone can point me in the right direction I'll apreciate that...

2- Where do I upload files for my new site.. ? right now I have the root account and the IP for our site... but, is secure to use the root account for ftp-ing my site..?

last thing... for that domain, I need to add 2 subdomains (I know how to do this), but, is posible to have the two subdomains in separate accounts... one subdomain with its own cpanel interface... without having to logon into the main site papasandbeer...? thats because 2 diferent peoples are going to administrate the subdomains, and I dont want them to share accounts...

I took a read to the documentation but still with the doubts above...

any inet address with manuals or instructions are welcome...

PS - Sorry for my english, isn't my natural language...

Hi,

1) You need to add the DNS Zone, no separate account needed.
2) You can't ftp as root. Use the domain name, username, password of each account you create in order to FTP to your site.
FTP server: your domain name
FTP username: the cpanel username
FTP password: the cpanel password
3) You can create separate accounts (in WHM) for any subdomain. Just do it as you would create any regular account. They will have their username/password for FTP access.
