Zarko 02-17-2006, 10:26 PM Hi friends,
I have been one year on a web hosting plan at ehostone.com and everything was great. Few months ago they started to offer reseller accounts. Since with reseller account the job is more serious, I ask if some of you have an experience with them with a reseller account.
I was not doing any automatic monitoring on the uptime, ehostone is good for me because I didnt noticed any downtime when I tried to access the website or userd the mail server. Actually, there was one downtime that I noticed, but it was resolved after not more than 30 min. Also, the e-mails come up later, I think that none of them were lost.
Also, I can see that they are using Planet DC, but I don't know whether they are resellers also, any tip how can I find this?
After all the reviews on WHT regarding web and reseller hosting, I think is the best to start with a reseller account at the company that you had a good experience with a regular web hosting account.
gate2vn 02-18-2006, 12:01 AM yes, if you are happy with their service, you should stay with them. Moving to another might be bring you a risk
WireNine 02-18-2006, 01:10 AM A reseller offering reseller accounts? Highly doubtful.
trendy 02-18-2006, 01:14 AM ya you can consider upgrade to their reseller plan then, try it out then only if they actually didn work out then change host.:)

Since they offer reseller accounts now, it's highly improbable that they are resellers themselves. Earlier though, when they only offered web hosting accounts, it could have been quite likely.

I agree that it's not a good practice, but I have come across a number of resellers that resell reseller accounts.
Example: Levi1.com offers reseller accounts and tells that they oversell on a big time, also allowing the same to their customers. In their clients list, there are companies that offer reseller accounts too.
Based on my experience with ehostone.com, I don't think they are resellers, but for any case, is there any way to make it sure?
layer0 02-19-2006, 02:38 PM I did some research and no, they do not appear to be resellers.

Since they offer the possibility of sub resellers, there is a chance that someone is doing it. This is from their website:
"'POWER' resellers
This is a brand new feature which almost no other web hosting company out there has. You can now resell unlimited 'reseller' accounts with your reseller account! (you don't need now a dedicated server for this). This great feature can be added to any plan for an additional $30 /m only! You can also get individual additional 'reseller' accounts for $4 each /m. "

 Well it doesnt surprise me abit.
Now we have offerings of resellers being able to sell unlimted reseller accounts.
A brand new feature for them....whew, would hate to be in that realm of things.
I will agree with their one point that many dont offer it but who knows they may open a new trend.....one we wouldnt be jumping on, lol.
Veridian - Shneur 02-21-2006, 07:05 AM Hey Martie,
We started offering our PowerReseller option upon a great demand of our customers who wanted to add "reseller plans" to their hosting plans they sell. I agree it is a bit of a stretch for a reseller on a shared server to sell "reseller accounts" but we have about 5 clients who do so and since - overselling rule - 95% of users use less than 0.5% of the space / bandwidth purchased, it is not a burden at all on the server. Of course, as the actual usage goes up, we add servers as needed.
