For the sake of me not wanting to submit a sales call, can someone give me a rough idea to what a full cabinet and bandwidth from Cogent would run at dv2.net. Both 10 and 100 meg drops?

Thanks.

You should be able to get a full cab and 10 Mbps drop for $2500 or so.

Thanks Drew. What about extra power circuits? or Remote hands?

Where we are now, we get a cab and 10 MBs for $2000, but they kill you one remote hands and extra power. They give you a 15 AMP drop and charge $250/mo for an extra one!

In fact - Jeff Kehe has been informed that he is evading taxes - yet he still does not pay his property taxes - and does not even have a business license - what a joke - I think your amerature hour is over buddy - the autohorities are coming after you - why dont you play by the rules instead of defrauding the government and running up everyone elses costs. People like you give our country a bad name. You can search the other threads - :bawling:

Saeed Sarvi - who are you and what experience do you have with us to base anything on? Have you been a customer of ours?

I was mainly referring to your "partner" eservers.biz, however we have had a lot of slow speed problems to your network and packet loss of up to 70% (sometimes lasting for longer than 24hs).

Is the 10 mbps drop from cogent? Why so expensive?

Why would you not want to submit a sales call? (Just curious)

A look at their support forum shows that they are struggling to meet the demand of supplying servers currently, but it doesnt denote that they wouldn't want to talk to you.

Sailor, I want 3 full racks, no need, just want them =)

sarvi - hi - what was the problem - was this on our end or on your remote end - or was it a nic card issue? Please pm me with more detail. Thanks -

Samuel - if you really want 3 racks - pm me and we will get you going.

Are you serious?
1) I hate having to call - basic pricing should be online.
2) I hate listening to sales pitches. I have been in this business long enough to know what I want and what is quality.
3) I don't feel like getting dumped into the dreaded "Leads" database.
4) An online forum produces a broad spectrum of opinions that is very helpful in decision making.

I guess the thread should of been "Where can I get cheap Cogent BW (no pun intended) with a full rack?" I know someone else is following this thread closely too.

DV2 is really starting to freak me out now with their lack of communication.

That right there is going to stop me from obtaining services from them.

Sailor, would you like to clarify some things here?

Or would you prefer it on your own forum?

Maybe a new thread?

The reason my interest is peaked is I was serious about obtaining my next 4 servers from them but this is not looking good at all.

MOD NOTE: Why don't you two discuss it via PM, as he shouldn't be carrying on a sales thread in the main forums>>

MCHost-Marc
05-07-2002, 04:14 PM
I honestly don't know why these discussions are carried out at WHT. The original post was about how much a cabinet and bandwidth costs and we'll end up with 50 pages of 2 companies flaming each other. As far as our experience with DV2 goes, we've always had prompt sales replies, machines up within 6 hours or less when we needed them and excellent network performance. For prices, i'd suggest you contact them directly over phone at 404.230.9150 as only they can give you the accurate information.

Hope this helps.

Samuel

You dont know why huh?

Maybe its because they dont answer after you buy from them?

UmBillyCord

Marc, I appreciate your response, but if I wanted to call, I would have. Do I need to drive to McDonald's to find out the "rough" cost of a Big Mac?

I appriciate everyones responses. I was mererly asking about how much so I could get some idea if it is worth persuing. We already have cabinets that use Cogent. So a rough at least gives me an idea. From the PMs I have got, it seems like there are a few others selling Cogent and racks cheaper.

dektong
05-07-2002, 04:37 PM
why would a cabinet with 10 mbps drop of cogent costs you $2000/mo, and $2500/mo at DV2? I will better pay a bit more money and get this at UUNet.

DV2 does too listen to customers after the sale. We get servers rebooted within minutes not hours even in the middle of the night. A few weekends ago, a server went down at dinnertime on Sunday. I called it in and less than an hour later Jeff called to help me out.

You can't ask for support more ready to help. I'm not paid (in fact I pay, big time :) )

It was just as unnecessary to post it on a public forum. Whether true or fake, bad or good, no private communication between 2 companies should be posted on a public forum.

Even though I'm a customer of eServers.biz, tranxactglobal (DV2) were very helpful fixing a bad HD at 1am in the morning for me. I'm not even a direct customer of theirs and they helped me out after hours! Who else would do that? I don't know where all these bad vibes are coming from.

Anyway, I almost wonder, are the people saying dv2 is so bad with their support actually using them for a dedicated server?

My experience is above par with them, had a problem tonight and they were on top of it lickety split and got my server back online after a kernel panic that required some fsck love.

When I'm whacking off, I mix the lubricant right in with the gas. I think it's a 30:1 ratio or something like that.
I like the string with the jagged edges, but it doesn't feed as well as the round stuff. It's harder to wind, too.
As far as blisters, like I said, the lubricant goes in with the gas (2-cycle engines don't take it separately). So I don't see how that helps. I usually wear gloves to keep from getting blisters. And long pants. Trust me. NEVER whack off with shorts on. You'll end up with lots of cuts on your legs. Hurts like hell.

Lately, I've been thinking about just hiring someone to do it for me. But it costs alot when you have to pay them every couple of weeks. My wife thinks I should just keep doing it on my own, since we have another baby coming and really need to save our money.

Anyway, just my two cents. To each his own, I suppose.
