Ive been looking at several smaller suv's, as im looking to buy one for my girlfriend. Right now the mazda tribute seems to have the best of both worlds IE sports car feel, suv usability. I know the 2001 model (introduction year) was plagued with problems as most new models do but the 2003's are out and i havent heard any complaints on quality?
Anyone drive the 2002/2003 and can lend some advice?
Was also considering a xterra or jeep liberty for her, but am leading towards the mazda tribute right now. Any help would be appreciated.

My old man purchased a mazda tribute a few months back....
While it is not my style, it is really quite good....
It is very comfortable, decent power and handling........
i have also been off road with it through some pretty rough terrain
and there was no problems....
I dont think you will be disapointed with it......

Mazda tribute is good. One problem others have had with it in the past is the cold air intake and hydrolicks, so may want to get that checked out. Then again which mazda doesn't. I got myself a mazda too, 1999 rx-7

IE sports car feel, suv usability. Well... "car feel," not "sports car feel." Unless you have a very different idea of what a sports car is than I do! :)
