I am thinking of advertising the following ways locally:
1. Billboard
2. Radio
3. Local TV station (regular commercial)
4. Local weather/news station (sponsored by)
So I was wondering if anyone has done the following and how well it help them? I figure it will cost more to do it this way, but for an example for the radio station I get 3 time slots per day for a whole month for $350.00. For the local weather/news station which is located not just in my city but most of Montana is brought up two times a night.

Web hosting. My target is more for the local area then the over all Internet market.

Local market is the best to target. I've advertised Local weather/news station (sponsored by) and in newspapers. TV commercials and bill boards I have really considered, however not done yet. I've also considered advertising on the radio.

I think it is a great idea and I am planning to do it. The biggest problem is if you are in a large city like me (philly) it cost some more to do it. But good luck

I really dont think you are hitting the right market by advertising on billboards. Even radio advertising would be cutting it close. You will be getting much more media coverage but you will also manage to target a very vast audience.
You also have to take into account that advertising in such forms is quite expensive compared to target advertising and will need to be repeated quite often in order to see decent results.

For radio advertising, my public radio station comes to mind.
People listening tend to be the more educated and elite of the community--including business owners, the ones who make decisions about hosting and development projects.
This may be only in my town as my local public radio station is pretty good.

While I haven't done any of the above, I have gotten prices. Billboards are crazy expensive for the number of eyeballs who will see it.
I personally do not think that webhosting and billboards are good together, unless it's outside of an office suite complex or something.
In my area (north carolina) billboards go for 1-3k per month with 6 month commitments.
Radio I think is good because there is no production cost, you can have the DJ do it usually.
TV I haven't researched further than finding out a very cheap low-budget production ranges from 3-5k
Sponsored by is reasonable as far as price, but dealing with my cable provider's sales dept was like pulling teeth and even though I only wanted MY city, they wanted to sell me on every city they provide cable for in NC.
Good luck, you very likely have a larger budget than I am working with so the prices I got may give less sticker shock :)
