View Full Version : Dedicated / Colo in Atlanta
Studio64 02-13-2006, 08:30 PM | I've done a few Google searches and found a few good links
http://www.andy.net/colo.php (Being the best)
But, does anyone know any more companies that offer dedicated hosting or colocation in Atlanta? More specifically in or around downtown Atlanta (55/56 Marietta or surrounding areas) |
mgphoto 02-13-2006, 08:50 PM That's a pretty out of date and limited list.
:santa: |
Harmolodic 02-13-2006, 08:50 PM | Check out GNAX: http://www.gnax.net
A top notch company with mostly great reviews on these forums. |
HiVelocity 02-13-2006, 08:54 PM I think natnet is also in atlanta. |
WireSix 02-13-2006, 08:55 PM can't go wrong with gnax or most anyone in 55/56 although as always do your research. Even in good facilities like these there are still some bad apples.
We colo with GNAX and a number of other providers and would recomend GNAX heavily :) |

they are, they use to be directly accross the hall from GNAX :) |
HiVelocity 02-13-2006, 09:01 PM there is a list at the bottom of all the carriers in 56 marrietta you may find a couple providers you can use in that list http://www.telx.com/carriers.cfm , also telx themselves sell colo. |

this was just recently discussed in one of the colo threads, for anything small (1 rack or less) direct telx colo is just cost prohibitive. I'd stick with someone who is already in the facility |
gate2vn 02-13-2006, 09:20 PM Global Compass / CyberWurx - highly recommended |
Studio64 02-13-2006, 10:01 PM Just a refresher in my colo costs estimates
From: http://www.gnax.net/colo/index.php
Rack rental
-- $25 / mnth for 1U
Connectivity
-- Unmetered 10mb line: $400 / mnth
-- Metered 100mb line
---- I'm paying for 95% utilization so if I used all 10mb I would be paying $790 / mnth
What about the power costs at the bottom of the page? I would probably be using a HP DL360 as the hardware.
Would you consider these prices to be an OK average cost for colocation? I'm saying +/- 15% guesses. |
VapoRub 02-13-2006, 10:34 PM We have been using GNAX for 2 years and you can't go wrong with Jeff's team. |
ayksolutions 02-13-2006, 10:36 PM Another vote for Gnax and Co. Highly recommended. |
Studio64 02-14-2006, 09:46 AM Hmm..
Are http://www.tranxactglobal.com/ and GNAX the same company?
They share forums and have similar contact information.
I assume GNAX does colo and TranxActGlobal does dedicated servers?
It looks like I'll be going with one of the two once I make the dedicated vs. colo decsion.
Can someone reconfirm my math above? |
mgphoto 02-14-2006, 10:13 AM Same company but GNAX does colo and TranxActGlobal does dedicated servers. |
