Hello, I have a few questions about SEO. I have 50 websites (STATEcarparts.com). This is going to be somewhat of a large 'portal' website where users can do searches and find junk yards (or rather, car parts) in their state. What is the best way to do this? I was told to use a different IP for each state's website and that would help with rankings. I have a 'network' of sites right now that isn't showing on Google or Yahoo!, could this be due to 'search engine spam?' If so, what is Google and Yahoo!'s definition(s) of spam? Please help! Thanks!

How old is your current network of websites? Generally if you just have links from other websites which are indexed Google will pick them up eventually. Different IP's would probably help the rankings although im not totally sure..

The current network is... Maybe 4-6 months old? I have great rankings on MSN.com, but Google and Yahoo have absolutely nothing unless you type the full 'www.incities.net' (or other domain) in, then it comes up with something. The keywords and description are all dynamically populated from a database using PHP, would that be a problem?

STATEcarparts.com
Choosing states at random, I visited four possibilities. One was just an empty html directory with no pages in place, two were parked domain pages, and one was some car part-related directory listings -- and a popup request to reset the viewer's home page on exit.

In other words, nothing Google would want to index...
