How much does it cost to upgrade the Dual Opteron 246 plan 1000g monthly bandwidth to 2000g/m? I submitted a ticket ask this question, but never receive an answer.

That is not something that we normally offer , generally metered bandwidth servers are billed at $.25/GB for overage , so this would run $250 , however we may be able to work something out for you or you could look into an unmetered option. Would you need that on a 10mbps port or 100mbps?

100mbps port.

btw, does Netscreen Juniper Hardware Firewall able to stop ddos attack?

Great offers! I might signup one day, and Netscreen Juniper HD does try to prevent ddos, there is no 100% guarantee that anything is exploit-safe.

It would be able to stop a ddos attack , however that ability is limited by the capacity of the Firewall , and your overall network capacity to your box.

I got in on your last special, but the Celeron doesn't seem to be working out for me.

I prepaid 5 months in advanced, can I upgrade to a p4 and pay the prorated difference (for 5 months, of course)?

I did email my account manager about this earlier this morning, but have yet to hear a response. I am eager to hear one before my wife comes home and puts the valentines day leash on me for the rest of the day :D

Should not be an issue , if you PM me your account details I would be happy to get that taken care of. Also on a side note I read your post in the dedicated server forum , one little advise I would give would be to possibly put your server OS as CentOS and run your forum on that platform it should do better with vbulletin.

HiVelocity,

I will consider the OS reload. The reason we went with the Windows server is because of a server application my partner made that requires the .NET framework. I know there are ways to run these type of things on a linux server, I may look into that more.

I am currently testing some mysql optimizations that the vbulletin team has helped me with. Thanks for your reply, if this optimization does not work out I will be contacting you.

I should note for people considering HiVelocity, their support is great. My account manager is very good to me. The only reason I posted on this thread is because I am a little impatient and saw that the original poster was online answering replies to this thread. I've had no problems with the bandwidth so far, and support requests are answered in a timely manner. My server was setup quickly too, a little over 24 hours after I faxed the payment form.

Hi,

I sell hosting services and I have a potencial customer interested in my
services. He develops websites and needs a special hosting solution for his
clients.

Me >> My Client >> His Client

My client wants to host 4 principal websites witch use (total of 4 websites):
5GB disk
50GB traffic

so is not a big deal!

But these sites also have intense email marketing campaigns!
About 60.000 email per day each website!

Not SPAM! Just opt-in leads with automatic unsubscribe option.

So,

I am looking for, I don't know, a dedicated server I suppose... Where I could host these special websites and get some extra revenue with some smaller websites.

Do you think any of this HiVelocity offers could satisfy him and myself?

Thank you

If you do not generate any complaints then this is absolutely something Hivelocity could help you with. Please PM me your contact information and we can discuss this over the phone or chat.

If you do not plan on using Microsoft SQL server, Web will work for you. Standard comes with the SQL server license, Web does not.

There may be other small differences, but that is the only major one that I know of.

PCTechMe

Standard comes with the SQL server licenseJust to clarify this, STD Edition does not come "with" an MS SQL license but rather MS SQL is allowed to be run on STD Edition with a SQL Server license.

Yes, we can install Gentoo for you. There might be a higher setup fee, however, since it takes quite a bit longer to install than the usual Linux distros. If you wanted to avoid the setup fee we can hook up a KVM over ip and allow you to install it yourself.

Yes, we can install Gentoo for you. There might be a higher setup fee, however, since it takes quite a bit longer to install than the usual Linux distros. If you wanted to avoid the setup fee we can hook up a KVM over ip and allow you to install it yourself.
No kidding it has been a week for me rebuilding gentoo and I'm still trying to get updatedb and recognition of the network card :crying:

I sent email to sales@hivelocity.net ask for quote, been two days with no answer, maybe no sales work on weekend? I don't really like to order new servers on chat window. Can I submit ticket on the helpdesk to order new servers?

Call them in the mornings Florida time like after 10:00 and every hour or so. Sales are in and out, but usually about some part of the day

Intresting in this topic it says you offer a KVM rental service but when I attempt to confirm that on live chat with Drew, he knew nothing about it.

I just ordered a server, will have to see how it goes!

Looks like they've got a few orders in queue. I was told it was unlikely I would see my server today! :(

Would it be possible to get one-time fee options for additional hard drives and/or hard drive upgrades?

We do not offer one time fees for additional hard drives. If any piece of hardware were to go bad during the life of your account with us it is replaced for free.
