I read over the board descriptions and I assume this is the right board. I'm not seeking a review of my site, just some help with what is causing the problems I am having and modifications I want to make with my site and the CMS it uses: VGPortal 2. I originally asked this question in the most logical place - the support forum on VGPortal 2 several days ago but no one has responded. I know nothing about programming but I am extremely eager to learn but to find the right info you need to know what you're looking for and I don't. I know the problems, but I can't put them into search words that give me useable info.

It doesn't look so bad in Firefox, it does look weird in IE and I don't even want to imagine how it looks in other browsers. For now if I could just get it fine in FF that would be a start.

Problems:

#1. The first is noticeable, the bar with the poll is now overlaying the right image. How would I go about moving that graphic back into place? I've dug through a few folders trying to find something that makes sense, but I'm really out of my element so can anyone give me a pointer.

#2. There is a game list on the site, as many of you might notice that thing doesn't seem to load right... it takes forever and then tells the user that they have to stop the script. I doubt many of you are extremely familiar with VGPortal 2, but any tips whatsoever about how I might go about finding that element of the script and removing it?

# 1. My games list is really big, about 10,000 titles in there right now. I wanted to have the game selection page (with #-Z) break things up to, say, 25 games per page. Right now it loads everything - certain letters have hundreds of titles so loading is a drain. How can I break up the letters by page?

# 2. I want to edit the fonts used on the whole site. but this page in particular. I do know a little about HTML - but I don't know what I would have to do here. Basically, I want to change the font style and size inside the large box (with the Advent Rising picture and details) http://www.game-o-pedia.com/?view=gamepage&game=1952 . Any tips on which file I should be looking to edit?


I'm not extremely optimistic about getting an answer to these questions, I fear they might require more knowledge of the CMS I use than might be available here... but I know this place is frequented by a lot of talented programmers and designers so I figure what the hell. I'll take any assistance I can get here.

Feel free to point out any other errors you find, too. I'm sure my site is riddled with problems.

The reason your poll box is overlapping the bit behind it is probably due to a "div" that's out of place. That code has *loads* of these, and it would take some digging to fix...

It'd probably take even longer if the person has no idea what they're doing, huh? Damn I really wanted to attempt to fix this and learn to be a bit more self-sufficient but it looks like it is above my capabilities.
