Alright, now before I get anyone saying "Use the search feature" I have, and I've done a lot of research on the results i've found. However, I still haven't gotten any closer to finding an answer.

I am trying to start my business off online, my business builds computers and sells them (online). I am looking for a store/cart system (preferably no more than $300 USD).

Now, I have tried osCommerce. I gave it a 0/10 and deleted it only hours after installing it. The admin area was simply too complicated, and I found it to be needlessly complicated, too many options, far too much work to change one little thing. I also found it very confusing, and the 100 page manuals just made everything worse.

I then moved on to zencart, another waste of time since the administration area is almost a carbon copy of the os commerce administration area.

I am looking to go to a paid solution now, however, I want advice, I have wasted a lot of money on scripts that I've chucked because they have been terrible. I want advice this time.

I need an ecommerce solution that is not "Easy" to use, but definately not "Complicated" and I would classify the OsCommerce/ZenCart admin systems "Complicated" while maintaining a decent look to it. My store will only end up having 10 - 25 products in total, so I dont really need any big scripts that are built for stores with hundreds upon hundreds of products.

It must be fairly easy and straight forward to setup as well, with OsCommerce and ZenCart there is far too much work involved in setting the store up. You basically have to change every value in the whole store, and there is a lot of values since it was not built to ( in my opinion ) a decent administrative standard. Again, not looking for EASY / not 100% customizable, but really not interested in needlessly complicated solutions.

Thanks in advance for any and all advice given!

I'd recommend www.ecommercetemplates.com - you can use one of the pre-designed layouts or your own for $105. I can show you some examples we've used if you're interested.

Almost with any e-commerce store front, you are going to run into a few issues like that. Reason being - the cart is built for everyone and they try to make it to please everyone, but we all know that can not be done

Exactly :)

Have a look at http://www.litecommerce.com/ - the basic system is quite lightweight and you can add modules if you need extra functionality.

http://www.x-cart.com is another to look at - it has a bolt on module so users can configure their own product (ie a PC)

Sunshop - http://www.turnkeywebtools.com - is pretty user friendly

http://www.cubecart.com/site/home/ is another cart script (with free version) and the admin is much less complex than OSC.

Thanks for your advice, I think I will run with LiteCommerce. I've had a good run around of the demo, and I'm about to get the trial to make sure it's everything I want it to be.

I know you said you only wanted to spend 300 dollars but I have recently setup a Miva 5.0 store and it is very customizable.

I would recommend MIVA too, personally I find nothing confusing about OSCommerce, but if you really need something simple and that works right of the bat MIVA is the one
