I have recently been infeccted by the virus or worm or whatever names sos!

I am unsure what this virus does or how it works, but can anyone tell me how toget rid of this nasty bug. I used alt+ctrl+del to close a suspiciously named program and searched using find for anything witht he word sos


Does anyone kno how to get rid of it.

This is the Klez virus. It's not enough to just search for "sos" since it uses over a hundred different random "subjects". Your best bet would be to run an anti-virus. Check out the Macafee and Norton web sites.

==> DO NOT open email attachments. For that matter, I've closed the Outlook Express pane that shows the current email. Now I check each email individually before opening.

I just got infected with a very similiar virus

2. format your hard disk and disconnect from the Internet, and don't use any software from sources you're not sure of

Apart from getting good virus protection !!!!

Go to the Symantec website www.symantec.com they may have a "search & destroy" patch for it that you can use without having to have one of their products.

Then get protected!!
