He's a great all around actor and this just validates the range of this kid. Fun fun fun movie! SoftWareRevue 05-05-2002, 11:11 PM  I voted "Not open here" just to keep up with my title. :( Not to mention; you didn't have an option to "May watch it when it's on DSS." It's open around here. But I'm not gonna go see it. I'll wait 'til it's on DSS . . . . . . maybe Speakerguy 05-06-2002, 12:00 AM i saw it... It was good...only sucky part (in my opinion) was hob goblin's costume (which was really lame) man...I wish stuff like that would happen to a l0z3r like me lol maybe I should start hanging out around radioactive spiders lol  iamdave 05-06-2002, 12:31 AM I voted "Didn't see it, want to." mantra 05-06-2002, 09:48 AM I didn't see it, but I want to. $114 million in 3 days. WOW!! What a record breaking opening weekend. aleavens 05-06-2002, 09:53 AM ...or any other bug spray cperciva 05-06-2002, 11:07 AM Spiders aren't bugs. jasonX 05-06-2002, 03:47 PM buurn! j/k alpha 05-06-2002, 04:18 PM i think im gonna see it tonight. :) will vote then... hehe Web Guyz 05-06-2002, 10:26 PM Cannot BELIEVE it brought in $114 million in 3 days. The studio did a GREAT job of promoting it though, you've got to give them that. Now, will Maguire's career REALLY take off or is a Dicaprio future in his career (sorry but Leo has yet to rake in decent change for movies after Titanic) alpha 05-06-2002, 10:58 PM $5.50 (Student discount) - I liked...well, my vote was loved the movie. Before I decided to go see the movie, I got some notion that the movie had some lame/cheesy special effects and that the movie was over-hyped. After watching the movie, I honestly have to say that the movie was well produced - the storyline was a good reminder of the actual storyline of spiderman unlike some other marvel-comic-made-into-movies. the costumes were pretty impressive - especially spidey - but the goblin's mask seemed a bit halloweenish (but maybe they were going for that). the cast was well selected - everyone looked/acted just as they did in the cartoon that used to be aired on fox - especially JJ! haha, the hair and the irritated behavior! since i only have two thumbs, i'd give this movie four thumbs!! lol :agree: :agree: :agree: :agree: vibehosts 05-07-2002, 03:49 PM I saw it with some friends and found it very good! getweb 05-07-2002, 04:40 PM "Saw it, Liked it." The word around the "Internet" is that it's quickly gaining ground as one of the most mistake-filled movies. Disclaimer: I'm not a movie buff, I didn't catch any of them, and I think some could have been on purpose. But for what it's worth: http://www.movie-mistakes.com/film.php?filmid=2225 (I think my favorite is that the kitchen wall he didn't help with goes from not-painted, to painted, and then back to not-painted later.) Seen all in one place, it sounds like a low-budget flick, but now I'm just excited to see it again and watch for the mistakes. It's all marketing, I tell you. Tim Greer 05-08-2002, 07:53 AM I will probably see it, just because I see about everything that looks like it might be worth it, if I get a chance -- plus my wife (yeah, that's right) really wants to see it (she watched all the Spiderman cartoons growing up -- while I didn't have cable :-/ *sad*). Yeah, well anyway, Tobey Maguire is a really good actor, I like a lot of movies he's been in -- although this is a change, I would assume he could pull it off well -- I just see this being a lot like the X-men (they could have done a lot, but it's basically just put on the silver screen and isn't that exciting after all, but worth a watch, probably). PS: Leo Dicaprio is actually a really good actor as well, even if he's been in some lame movies (I.e., Titanic -- but you can't blame him). If anyone hasn't seen these (I'm sure most have), check out The Baskette Ball Diaries and What's Eating Gilbert Grape. He did a good acting job in those (just and only those) movies. [And definitely before he was a a big 'teen-girl' box office draw (and these roles didn't quite make him a teen "heart throb" *L*)]. cabalstudios 05-08-2002, 04:25 PM disapointed, Well it isnt all that, I assue the money they are making is because of all the hype, they got about the film. Theres, too much normal day life ****e in the film and no action, thats what ruined it, also they took the part out with the trade centers, and the web in the center catching the helicopter, which has also ruined it (bummers) :D |
