I am in the middle of devising a plan for webhosts in particular to offer phone support. I am just wondering how many hosts would like a solution like bobcares.com but for phone support in the United States. Each hosting company will have their own 1-800 number and would pay a per phone call rate plus a monthly charge for the 1-800 number. The reps would be experinced reps that would answer the phone " Thank you for calling XXX hosting company how can I help you.
Please not this be would be only for support and would run at about $1.00-$2.00 per phone call by my specs to hire reps and a $15.00 1-800 number charge.
What are your thoughts?

I don't see how you would be able to get enough reps to handle it 24/7, but if it were for business hours only then it might be possible. That would be a neat service.

Asked because that pricing might work (although tight) in other countries, but would not work in U. S.

Average Salary for Qualified Tech $15.00 - $20.00 /hr
Average Cost including fringes/taxes $16.50 - $22.50/hr.
Average Cost including overhead $20.00 - $30.00/hr
Maximum Calls Per Hour 8 - 6
Average Utilization - 75% - 50%
Average Calls Per Hour - 6 - 3
Average Cost Per Call $3.33 - $10.00
Average Price for 30% Margin $4.75 - $14.29 per call

Wouldn't it be Easier, Faster, Better, and More Cost Effective, if you did live chat support? I mean you would be able to do the same thing, only faster, easier, and better, and it would be more cost effective.
Would it not? Is phone support just better period or what?
