Okay and a few more questions.

Are you a reseller?

How long has your company been around?

What are you support hours? Also what type of support do you have (email, help desk, forums etc)?

What brand servers do you use (Dell, HP etc)?

Equonix
02-08-2006, 08:53 PM
marcgo15,
We've formed Equonix in April 2005 but our Staff have started a dedicated server provider in Early 2004.

We have 24/7 Support both Remote and Onsite Techs.
We purchase our servers from Rack Logic Also the brand for the servers.

Hello equonix, your site equonix.com has been down all morning... it would be good if you fixed it, otherwise it's not going to refect very well on a host that cannot succeed in hosting their own site.

Equonix

strojanoff,
We've had reports that certain countries have not been able to access our site and Internal Server Rack. Our Network Engineer is looking into it.

Site works via IP, but the nameservers (SOA) isn't answering. Just visited via IP, and the Athlon servers appear to be unavailable?

Equonix

Just fixed the ifconfig so the website should be working now. We still have more Athlons and Celerons avaliable and can be ordered at http://www.equonix.com/solutions/celeron_athlon.html :)

Please try now.

Also, what happens when you guys get a cease and desist from Equinix for using basically the same name?

We've discussed this with Equinix before changing our company name and they had no problems with it. Both similar names but pronounced differently.

There are many providers have similar names.

If i take linux, can i remotly connect to it with windows with vnc or something. Can you install vnc there ?

Can i take server for 1 month ?

BitTorrent allowed, but not with full speed ?

Equonix
02-10-2006, 03:18 PM
Hello Tomzi,
Thank you for your interest, by default you cannot connect via Remote Desktop Windows --> Linux. There are some Linux Packages which allow you to do this e.g. Vnc. Since these servers are unmanaged, I suggest you to use SSH to login to your server securely or go with a Windows operating system.

Since there is no monthly contract between us and the customer; you can purchase the server for one month and cancel the server at any time before your next invoice.

BitTorrent is allowed as long as you are in control of your bandwidth usage. Over-usage of your bandwidth will result a $0.50/GB. You can purchase more bandwidth in blocks of 1000GB for $90 / Month.

Just an observation: your site layout is breaking in firefox on a 1024 x 768 display. When I scroll down, the footer ends up somewhere midpage.

Hello Burin03,
I'm not sure where you are seeing this error on firefox; Please send a screenshot to mark@equonix.com and I'll look into it.

can i say your relationship with dediwebhost is same as LayeredTech with Savvis?
In this case, Dediwebhost has the physical datacenter and you rent a locked rack in their center?

Something like that yes. DediWebHost does not own the Datacenter, AS Inc & MSG Inc does :)
