View Full Version : Anyone familiar with ehostsouce.com???..need help!!!
Bouley86 05-05-2002, 08:34 PM Alrite, I need some serious help. I've been trying since april 30th to get my hosting with ehostsource.com up and running. I've changed the name servers, but all that shows up is my Yahoo! Domains Web Card. I can log on to FTP, into the stats for my website and the admin for my site and even the email but I can't get my website itself to work. I've tried emailing ehostsource three times now and even tho it says they will respond within 24 hours it has been 4 or maybe 5 days since my first support request was sent in. This is becoming very frustrating and I could use any help I can get.
netacore 05-05-2002, 09:23 PM Are you using the nameservers that ehostsource.com provided?
Do a whois search on netsol.com. If the appropriate nameservers show up, then the problem is on their end and basically nothing can be done by you, except contact support again :)
What type of control panel are you using?
nvphone 05-05-2002, 09:34 PM are you uploading to your www file?
Is your main page index.html?
Some hosting will not htm for the index.
They where down last night.
mlip129 05-05-2002, 09:42 PM netacore is right. sounds like a name server problem. I assume you registered your domain name with yahoo. If so go there and specify the nameservers your host gave you, usually something like ns1.ehostsource.com and ns2.ehostsource.com.
Bouley86 05-05-2002, 10:12 PM i changed the name servers already..and i dont even know which folder is the www folder..any one know?
Bouley86 05-05-2002, 10:14 PM oh and i did a whois on multiple sites and the nameservers are what they're supposed to be...
mlip129 05-05-2002, 10:22 PM If you connect via ftp, what folders do you see? I dont know when you updated your name servers but it can take up to 48 hours for them to update.
Bouley86 05-05-2002, 10:53 PM the folders i have are:
cgi-bin
images
_private
_vti_bin
_vti_cnf
_vti_log
_vti_pvt
_vti_txt
mlip129 05-05-2002, 11:23 PM hmm... Ive never seen a setup like that, Usually there is a www folder. Try making a index.htm and index.html file and put something in there(a picture or some words) and upload them into all the folders, then see if it works.
GnomeyNewt 05-06-2002, 02:56 AM Looks like you login to your public folder already, maybe you don’t have root access. Those files are your FrontPage extension files.
Like netcore said, if you have your DNS servers pointing to them correctly and it is still not working, it is most likely there server. Contact them again and confirm that the DNS servers they gave you are correct ones, also metion that you have contacted them serveal times and that you would like a response. Hopefully they have contacted you by now to help you out.
Bouley86 05-06-2002, 05:20 PM I did finally get a reply but it was after a direct email to the support address. Originally I had used their online form and I assume there was something wrong with it. So far the problem isnt solved but as far as I know they are working rite now to solve it.

Stop using this software and be happy!
Bouley86 05-07-2002, 03:31 PM ok, everything is fine now my domain is up and running. turns out the problem ended up being on their end i guess..

Hi Bouley86,
If they state they will reply within 24 hours and then take 4-5 days to respond to you then this is not acceptable! Did they give any explaination as to why they didn't respond for so long and why your site wasn't working? I would be very wary of using a host with this kind of track record right off the bat ... what happens if thier server goes down? Will they take 5 days to put it back online?
Just my 2 cents :)
