Hello!

I have been in a hosting dilemma for about 2 months now as my former hosting provider was cut off completely from their lines and had to discontinue their service. I was forced to move my domains and I thought my new hosting provider would be a good idea (won't name it right now). Unfortunately it wasn't.

Now I am thinking about seperating my non-adult and adult websites on different hosts. This is what I urgently need:

~200-500 MB space (should be upgradable)
~10 GB transfer (overages shouldn't be too expensive)
- PHP, CGI-Bin, MySQL
- Unlimited subdomains (really important, no control panel setup, I would like to setup http://mydomain.com/test in my FTP and be able to use http://test.mydomain.com instantly. I need this for a redirection service of mine)
- Very good uptime
- Unlimited domain pointers (really important too)
- FTP access, POP3
- some other features would be great as well

I need this configuration for both hosts, adult and non-adult.

The price for the account should be around $20. If you know a good host which allowes both category of sites, I would really appreciate your post too.

I have already a few hosting services I have my eyes on. The reason I am posting here is that you could certainly tell me some more great places to go for hosting.

Thank you very much.

Greets, Marcus.

Didn't quite understand the subdomain requirement.

If you don't want to use the CP to setup the subdomains, then you may need a script to do it. If so, it's not a hosting problem. You should look for a script first.

But if what you are looking for is a redire service, according to my experience, they just re-direct. They will not use the space on the server. So, sub.domain.com -> domain.com/sub is not viable.

Anyway,

Check downtownhost.com and sexy-hosting.com for both types of hosting service.

Thank you ebird for the suggestions.

Will have to explain my need for the subdomains a little bit further :)

I have a redirection service at www.true-reality.com

It gives the surfer the possibility to create their own subdomain like subdomain.true-reality.com.

When the surfer creates a subdomains, a directory named "subdomain" in the dir true-reality.com is created so that there is the directory true-reality.com/subdomain

All I need is that my new host is capable of forwarding the address subdomain.true-reality.com directly to true-reality.com/subdomain.

I hope I expressed myself clear this time ;) Anyone knows of the right expression for that subdomain service I want? Is is "path-forwarding"?

Thx a lot.

Have your script automatically create .htaccess files whenever a new users signs up. It will perform the redirection

The problem is, that I need to find a host which offers unlimited subdomains for my redirection service. All hosts I visited have limitation of 5-15 subdomains :(

Just a quick question:

Is anyone of you dealing with ITmom? Are they recommendable?

I tried to email them about one week ago and still no reply. They have unlimited subdomains but it seems like they can only be enabled with the control panel.

Any ITmom clients? Thank you ;)
