Does anyone know what percentage do people use for each browser?

Example:
10% = Internet Explorer
30% = Mozilla
etc.

A quick googling throws up the following as the first result...

I've used Firefox/Mozilla/Netscape for as long as I can remember, never touch IE apart from my banking website, which doesn't support IE! (:uzi: Woolwich)

Our stats show about 70%.... Mozilla is slowely gaining ground.

We're showing about 80% IE, 10% FireFox and 10% Mozilla, then Safari and Opera.

I have a couple properties where IE is sitting in the 30-40% range. Obviously, this has a lot to do with the audience, but it's still remarkable, considering these same sites would be 90%+ IE two years ago.

80-85% IE is normal for me now, down from around 96-98% IE a few years back.

Bottom line, you can't predict what people will use in the future, nor all of the determining factors that weigh into the equation of predictability.

It really depends on your target audience. If you operate a computer support forum, you're probably going to have more firefox / ie users. If you operate a finance website, you're probably going to have more IE users.

I get more IE users than Firefox users, because of an article i wrote about a 'work at home' scam that has been advertising on many cable television stations. The technologically illiterate usually use IE, and usually enter the website address at yahoo or google, instead of their address bar. THen when they enter the website address, they find my page, because i listed every domain the scam was using in the post.

The beta IE is a hunk of junk! Even Firefox in the beta 1 stage or even late alpha stage was in better order.
There's only one Firefox, IE will always be just a clone. FF 2.0 won't be long either (sometime this year).

I'm just enjoying the competition. I doubt IE would even have tabbed browsing or even a new release if it wasn't for FF nipping at it's heels. It's nice to see Microsoft running scared!

//ON TOPIC :)
Officially IE was at 85 or 90% last I heard although it really depends where you go.
Most forums/sites I use are full of FF and Opera users.
Firefox is reporting nearly 142 million downloads but I don't know how reliable that figure is.

IE is still used by the most part of the average surfers and it will continue to be the same as long as it comes integrated with the OS.

The latest version of Opera is the best I have ever used...

And browsing with Opera is more comfortable than with Firefox...

Oh, just you wait until Opera 9 is available. The features they are building into are absolutely stunning!

I find it interesting that the people who use technology the most and understand it the most, use anything but IE. While non tech savvy users use IE. I maintain three sites. A jewelry wholesaler, a restaurant and a tech site. The jewelry wholesaler is 90% IE. The restaurant is in an affluent neighborhood and it's 75% IE. The tech site, is just under 80% Firefox and the others.
