I'm trying to find a good avenue to sell a dedicated/colo business that I've been running for 5 years and I'd love any input. The business is a division of a larger company, so it will need to be spun off, but that's not the problem. In January of 2006 it generated $34,808 in revenue for that month and it grows by roughly $3,000 of new business each month, so it's a good size and *I think* something that would be highly sought after.

My questions:

[1] Where would one go to even start finding a a GOOD company to buy this? Preferably an established host or someone with sufficient financial backing and wherewithall to keep the operation going. Nothing would be worse then selling it and making life miserable for my customers.

[2] What would the going price be for such an entity? It has about $100k of hardware inventory as well.

[3] What is involved in transfering the business?

Yes, someone would most probably be interested in buying that.
[2] What would the going price be for such an entity? It has about $100k of hardware inventory as well.
How old are the servers? Hardware does depreciate fairly fast. Was that $100k figure, the purchase price for those servers>
[3] What is involved in transfering the business?
Contracts signed, money exchanged, access given to equipment and clients etc etc. Lots of work to do, but if you take it one step at a time, it's not that bad.
