Hello!

When you "ping" a server you get this average value, for example 20ms. What does it mean and what is a good/bad number?

Regards,
Yahooo

20ms is excellent! 100ms is very very good! But that does not mean that, for example, 400ms is bad too!

On the average, (obviously depending on where you are located and which server you ping) you will notice an average value ranging upto 600ms.

Remember, these are 'ms' or 'milliseconds'... one thousandths of a second.

Are you talking about the total or per hop? What I mean is if I have 18 hops with an adverage of 15-60 ping per hop is this good or bad ? I never have to wait for my site, so I think it is good, isn't it?
thanks rinnando
