phpcoin used to be free..I'd suggest you develop your own or have someone develop your own to offer a unique solution.

I think freebies are very hard to find now. Clientexec is $125 - about 71 quid which is not a lot to shell out.

Take a look at AWBS. We use it and it works really well. http://www.awbs.com.

I've just bought AWBS to replace ClientExec, just waiting for the licence to be delivered. AWBS seems to have a few features that I need/prefer over CE.

That's basically what it comes down to, you have to find what works best for you, everyone is different, so the same software doesn't suit everyone.

phpCOIN is still free, however:
"License to remove Powered by phpCOIN footer line - $ 50.00 (USD)"

FREE ----- WHMsubs
www.webstyleopen.com
This is like cPanelSubs - in fact the author states that cPanelSubs stole his code and is selling the product. I tried to use this but ran into some problems; it's not well-supported. But then I'm not too good with the technical side. If you use this and get it working , please let me know.
Also provides a support ticket system.

www.cydock.com
This used to be free and I thought has a lot of promise. CyDock was recently aquired and downloads are disabled until the transition is complete. They may continue with free downloads after the transition (or maybe not)

Whois.Cart is $35 and integrates with a lot of different apps and services - like PayPal Pro is supported and OpenSRS, and a conversion from AWBS (which I 'm not too familiar with, but am going to check out more now).

WebHost57 is $11.95 and has PayPal and CC integration: www.wh57.com
The problem with this is it isn't supported very well. You could get a bulk discount from the author if you're interested in offering it to your resellers.

I haven't used any of these systems, and I know there's been a lot of threads about this. But I think there's new software out and changes - just recently CyDock was aquired and I think it will be a major contender in the billing arena. Maybe a new, comprehensive look at what's out there is ok. Who's used WebHost57? Who has some comparitive notes on what's available now? Which applications interface well with what? What are the new features?

If there's a comprehensive thread, I'd like to read it.

Thanks,

oh AWBS is not free, it's $169 to own or $17.95/month.

We still need a comparitive of free invoice/billing systems.

Hi Lucky A.

Thanks for your reply.

I tried installing a few programs quite a while ago, and I may have made a mistake.

I think I may have had problems installing WH57 www.wh57.com , but I just installed it this past week without any problems. I remember a field in an app I was installing that I couldn't figure out how to fill in; this may have been WHMsubs.

I'm ging to go ahead and try installing WHMsubs again, I'll post back with how the install went.

Thanks again for your offer to help.

I tried to install WHMsub, but it didn't work until I replaced $action with $_POST['action'] in the install file. Do they even support this anymore? Their website has a copyright of 2004...

Register_globals isn't good, may just be better to get paid software for such things or code something yourself taking good care of the security. Think you'd best go to the employment request board if you want to hire someone to install it for you though.
