Our URL: http://www.jlhost.com

Ripped: http://www.arbolhosting.com

What is the best way to go about this without seeking advice from a lawyer? If it comes down to it I will, best sorted without.

I have contacted their provider about this, but I take it that provider won't do much without copyright documents?

Thanks in advance.

Well, you could try a cease and desist letter, but that would cost you about $400 to have a laywer send to them unless you have a relative who could do it.

You could bolser your case by trying to file a copyright. Check out www.legalzoom.com for a cheap method of filing a copyright claim.

Looks as though they have replaced the files?

Yes they have, just before the abuse department of their server provider got to it. Scums.

Funny however this abuse department wrote back to me as if I was making a stupid claim, "The two sites http://www.arbolhosting.com & http://www.jlhost.com are two different sites. There are no likenesses what-so-ever."

Never occured to them that these scums had replaced the site before they got to it 3 hours after the creation of the ticket. Funny, they are one of my providers as well.

Case closed.

Just be flattered when people steal your design. You know they aren't going to get anywhere...

But it gives you anger and stress levels upto the tip of your hair, when you invested into getting the so called unique design. Mind you the designer wouldn't be happy about it.

I agree, i cannot stand obvious rips! It's the simple fact that you have spent time, effort and money to make something unique, only to find out that someone has decided to copy you. It can also make you look stupid for having the same site as someone else.

Which is why I always take screen shots of the 2 sites, side by side, as well as any evidence to support it before reporting. I've been down that road a few times already

Yes, I think screenshots would have been most sensible. Would have avoided myself looking like a total fool to the abuse dept.

Thanks for the reminder though.
