Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could give me advice/opnions on this:

I was thinking about doing Sales Callbacks. In other words, the person fills out a short form on my site including there name, telephone number and best time to call. Then of course, someone would call them back. -- Do you do this? Is this a good idea? Are there pro's & con's I should be aware of?

Thanks,

I've seen companies do this before. It shows professionality. However, I can see some security issues coming off in it (ie: someone fills out the wrong phone number), but you probabley won't have many problems.

this is fairly normal practice, howver bear in mind that you may get many international enquiries so your phone bill may be quite big!

Might want to read the thread again, this is post-sales, not after-sales.

It's a good plan, and you'll find that sales are often a lot more successful and speedier over the phone.

If you don't provide toll-free sales, then, yes, this is a great idea!

Doesn't post-sale and after-sale mean the exact same thing? :eek3:

Also, it seemed to me he was calling after they filled out the forms, which is exactly what fraudgate does, in order to verify payment information. Maybe I'm wrong.

Well on a sign up form, I've never seen it ask to know when the person wants a system to call :D.

Post sales would mean "Pre-Sales". and after-sale would mean after the sale is closed.

Thanks,

The form was for pre-sales questions, such as "Do you support XXX?," not after the sale to verify the order.

I see what you are asking now. However, there are programs that will request a time or give you the option to initiate the call at your convenience.

By the way, just for future reference. Post-sale means after sale, the prefix post means after. Pre-sale means before sale, pre means before. After-sale isn't really a term.

Actually, I've seen the term after-sale used quite a bit in the business world.
