View Full Version : what should i do?
zdwebhosting 05-04-2002, 10:19 PM Ok, thrusday morning i wake up to a new signup.
so i setup the account send out thier confirmation account setup email etc.. etc..
i get an email back saying this email is not valid @ hotmail.
so i am like hum i will call him later on in the afternoon , so i call and to my surprise the # ends with 1223 so i was like wonder if it works, i call it up and nobody answers but i did'nt get an error message.
what is the best thing to do know that he paid with a credit card?
i am thinking about trying to refund the credit card via 2checkout but i have no way of contacting this individual.
what would you do in this situation as i am stumped.
ADEhost 05-04-2002, 10:22 PM keep the account, and leave a message, then check with the registrar and get another tel# and e-mail address.
mike
Aralanthir 05-04-2002, 10:24 PM Well, it is distinctly possible that the person just entered the wrong e-mail address (i.e. made some sort of typo) when registering. Also, hotmail has been known to shut down accounts when they exceed their storage limit, so that could have happened as well.
I say, give them the benefit of the doubt for awhile, and try them at the phone number again later (Maybe they were at work, so they wouldn't answer until evening?) to see if they answer.

zdwebhosting 05-05-2002, 04:18 AM found out how :0
just canceled the recurring payment and issued a credit for 1 installment so it said it added that to the owners credit card.
so end of this thread i guess :)

no it's not really, be advised that gaining heat mean "getting a gun" or that his or her family does not want the charge.
document this transaction.
zdwebhosting 05-05-2002, 05:35 AM lol what you mean by document this transaction?
like he will try to kill me lol?
skylab 05-05-2002, 06:53 AM gaining heat is more like, he's getting his ass in trouble for using mom's credit card.
or, he stole the credit card # and is worried that it will be tracked back to him.
PACKING heat is an older term for having a gun (or gat if you're so inclined).
you should definitely document email addresses, phone numbers, credit card numbers, IPs, and so forth just in case.
dynamicnet 05-05-2002, 08:05 AM Greetings:
We always work by signed contracts for authorization forms.
Our parent company does provide hosting services, and when the billing department is notified of an on-line order, they will email an authorization form to the person placing the order.
In order for our set up department to set up the account, the person placing the order has to sign the authorization form and fax it back to the office.
It does cause a delay to valid orders, but it has reduced charge backs to zero.
And, yes, they are using valid credit card numbers. Just not their credit card numbers.
Thank you.
