View Full Version : WHM Skin for TREO 650
midnightz 02-03-2006, 02:04 AM Hello -
I have been reading threads here for a while and in a few weeks will consider releasing my WHM theme that works perfectly with a TREO 650. I am interested to see if this something that TREO/WHM users would need and like and also would like to get a few BETA testers for this once it is optimized in full.
Does this sound of interest to anyone as I have a few of my friends that ask for mine all the time.
Cheers!

midnightz 02-03-2006, 12:56 PM Not yet, that was my next pounce.
Thanks :)
okihost 02-03-2006, 07:06 PM I don't see why this would only be Treo 650 specific would it? I have a PCC6700 and would love to try it out.. WHM is a real pain with the default xskin.

Why do you specifically mention the Treo 650? Just as many people own Treo 600's, Blackberries, WinCE phones, etc.
If you were to make a generic text only, small screen friendly skin you would be our hero!
The requirements:
-Low bandwidth - meaning NO graphics. Many of us are paying by the kilobyte as if it were still 1990.
-Fits the smallest screen, which I think is the Treo 600 at 160x160
-Has bookmarkable sections, so we don't always have to start at the home page
-Has a single screen for the most common tasks, which for me would be: server status, restart apache, restart pop, graceful reboot
-NO frames, javascript, java, flash, etc. Just basic html!
I use my Treo 650 and 600 to access WHM, but I disable picture download, so It's really fast to use the normal skin.
monaghan 02-27-2006, 09:53 AM Sounds good, I personally use a Zire with seperate phone, but I'm guessing this will work fine.

What palm browser do you use that can handle the frames in WHM? The built-in Treo 600 browser shows WHM with the left hand navigation frame taking up 90% of the screen and everything else in a narrow little column.
(Stephen) 02-28-2006, 11:51 PM I would recommend it be called the PDASkin or SmartSkin (smartphone, etc)
GP-JT 03-01-2006, 03:47 AM Or maybe call it MobileSkin / MoSkin.
/me shrugs
We'd definitely be interested in using this skin.
The Napster 03-01-2006, 03:53 AM Sounds like a very interesting concept.
//me subscribes too thread.
LP-Trel 03-01-2006, 06:18 AM Feel free to contact me. I use a Treo 650 and would be happy to assist with development of it. :)
GP-JT 03-29-2006, 04:33 PM Any update on the skin?
Jim_UK 03-29-2006, 06:33 PM If there's a WHM theme around that works okay on the Blackberry browser I'm certainly interested.

Boo Blackberry. Yay Treo. :peace:
taylorwilsdon 03-30-2006, 02:28 AM I'm definatly interested - I've got a vzw treo 700 and its a pain to muck through whm when I've got to make a change on the fly.
eLiTeGuRu 04-01-2006, 03:26 PM I would be happy to help you test it (using a PDA).
Dan L 04-02-2006, 01:35 AM I'll help with the development as well if anyone wants to get something started.
DimensionServers 04-02-2006, 11:54 AM I would be interested in beta testing this, I do palm dev in my spare time. Please let me know.
tuwebfacil 04-02-2006, 03:36 PM Here is another future customer for it!
Dacsoft 04-02-2006, 07:11 PM Sign me up. WHM on the Treo would be a great asset.
