Oh, very nice indeed but I think that people (that are not nessecarily your targeted custemors though) want to know what an "Open Relay Rack" is. I leave that to YOU sincie it is YOUR thread ;)

I got 4-5 people asking on ICQ today what it is lol

Well, I am not sailor, but I think these are the rack with no doors (i.e. no cabinets). So the datacenter will have many different customers house their servers on these racks. Above/MFN uses this kind of racks (the other tier1 data center I visted all use cabinets). It's not really ideal for me since somebody might work on his own server and in the middle bump his knees on your computer reset button, and there ... you just lost 3 minutes of your uptime guarantee :D

That's why the escorted security is a must in this kind of open racks environment so that they will make sure nobody is touching somebody else's equipments and if somebody does cause harm to other's equipment, then you get eye witness on site :D

Now, when you mention these are $350/mo/rack, does the price include power charge? If so, how much power? It would be very nice deal if this does include power since the power itself may costs hundreds/mo for 20Amps wiring at other places.

cheers,

my impression is that the nic was fully open, not like half duplex, maybe i'm wrong, but that's what i think he means, i dunno.

he is talking about the rack, not even mentioning any bandwith. I stil have to see a half duplex rack and if possible a full duplex one :D

I am 100% sure I know what he means ;)

there is a pcture of some of the racks on our site - they are an open rack in our main cage - yes - power is included - enough to run your rack and it is all UPS protected.

Bandwidth is extra - anywhere from 300 per meg down to 60 per meg. (depends on how much and what type).

This is a connection that goes to your switch and allows you to aggregate your servers on the connection.

Let me know if anyone is interested - this is by far the best deal on the net.
