I have yet to commit to Cpanel and WHM...one thing is hoding me back--billing. Here are my criteria for a billing system...
1. The client must be able to enter his order (on a provided form) so the order will automatically set up the web site plan he chooses. (We use Card Service International's LinkPoint HTML at this time.)
2. The software must allow a customer to enter credit card info so it goes to a 3rd party system (see above), AND
it must allow the customer to input checking account data for payment via online check using a software program like the one at checksoftware.com.
3. It will do recurring payments as one option.
4. No "manual batches" should have to be run by me. It must be automated except when dealing with "cash" customers, i.e., mailed in or online check.
5. It must be able to mass invoice all customers AND select groups of customers with one click.
6. It must have a provision for hosting packages AND separate items, i.e., bandwidth overages, one-time set ups, etc., AND domain registration (using bulkregister).
7. It must track late payers, etc. , and have the ability to suspend clients.
8. Last but not least, it must work!
I've probably left out things, but I thought this list is a great start. Any billing program gurus or users are invited to respond. Please let me know your thoughts and concrete details.
Thanks!
