Unknown to me my "web host" was actually a reseller. Last week I woke up to find out that my site was off the air and instead a notice was posted saying that the reseller owes the principal money and the principal had no choice but to pull all websites sold by the reseller. The notice asked whether I would like to continue my account with the principal instead and if I agreed, my site would go back up immediately. Considering the circumstances I had no choice but to agree and as soon as I sent my email to the principal to say I agree to deal directly with them, my site was back on the air. I have actually paid the reseller up to August 2002 and I told the principal that and they told me they will "try" to "honour" the payment but I have not heard from them for a week. My website is 3 years old and I never had any problems with the web hosting .... from day one it has been with the same server. What do you think is going on? Best wishes, kayes

Well, for the sake of your site, you did the right thing. For the sake of your wallet, well...

The whole system relies on everyone paying for their part. Even the principle provider must pay their bills (which could be to the facility where the servers are, or to the connectivity providers, and even to the electric company, etc.), or your site will go off line, regardless of the fact that you've paid.

I saw the same thing on a donhost reseller a while ago, a guy well known for lying to people had apparently not paid donhost and disappeared and left all his clients stuck without their sites!

That's really messed up! I hope you get the issue resolved.
