View Full Version : Saving Private Ryan
clocker1996 05-03-2002, 05:47 PM i just watched saving private ryan.. the ending is soooooooooo sad :'(
it was a terrific movie...
long, but worth it.
*turns on happy music* lol
Let me ask a question. BE HONEST PEOPLE. Did anyone cry at the ending?
TopDog07 05-03-2002, 07:05 PM Yes it is a great movie. I bought it when it first came out on vhs, didn't have (or really know) what a dvd player was then lol. (I am from the back woods). I wonder what the quality is between the DVD and the VHS versions.

:bawling: :bawling:
ADEhost 05-03-2002, 09:28 PM well there are 2 reasons why I will never see that movie again or change the channel.
the one knifing scene with the tall german, I have nightmares about that one. and the tears that flow at the end.

coolguy23 05-03-2002, 11:19 PM my fav part was when the guy saw the other guy through the scope of the snipper and shot him right in the eye!!!!!!!!!
that was amazing, but the rest was sad :bawling:
TopDog07 05-04-2002, 02:59 AM True, it is sad, but unfortunately thats a part of life.
Rewdog 05-04-2002, 03:08 AM I've only cried in 1 movie, though I did get teary eyed in old yeller...
Tribute to Micheal Jordon at the IMAX theator. No lie.
Jedito 05-04-2002, 03:21 AM Anybody saw the TV serie "Band of Brothers" ?
Quite amazing too.

Was a very good HBO presentation. :)
TopDog07 05-04-2002, 04:26 AM The previews of BOB seemed like it would have been good, but I didn't have HBO att. :(
tagalaxy.net 05-04-2002, 05:14 AM BoB was incredible, but i found SPR to be typical Speilberg trash (Schindlers List is about his only recent movie that i've found of any decent quality)
clocker1996 05-04-2002, 05:21 AM anyone seen saving ryan's privates.

shaving ryan's privates is a little more original :)
But I thought it was a great movie. Yes, sad at times - but the movie is supposed to be realistic; war is sad.
Alan - Vox 05-04-2002, 08:30 AM We were soldiers, and black hawk down. Anyone seen them?
TopDog07 05-04-2002, 12:47 PM As for this time era, I would have to say Black Hawk down is the most realistic. I have been wanting to see We Were Soldiers, hasn't come out at the local theater yet.

No. No. And no for Ryan too.
Maybe I should see them...
POST 600!
Alan - Vox 05-04-2002, 02:21 PM They are both brilliant films :)
tagalaxy.net 05-04-2002, 05:16 PM as a movie BHD was good...realistic imagery
however once you get to know how completely and utterly incorrect the story is (compared to what really happened) it kinda puts a dampener on things...
still, if you take it as a action movie and not a fact-based movie, its pretty damn good
TopDog07 05-04-2002, 07:13 PM Yes it differed from the real life happenings, but it was still realistic.

Black hawk down wasn't worth the effort to even read the show listing out of the paper. I was unhappy with the movie and should have asked for a money back guarantee. IMHO
BTW: Has anyone seen or tried the new Vanilla Coke yet?? I keep waiting and looking for it

Yeah that is a VERY (good) hard scene. It is kinda humane though cause the german is actually "begging" the guy he kills to "not resist and get it over with"to spare him pain" actually.
I mean it is war right. And it is not the worst that can happen... 1 on 1 violence indeed scares us the most but a nuke that kills millions is NOT better... Unless I'd be in the core of the explosion (and killed instantly) I'd rather be stabbed 1000 times! :(
War sucks!
Woody 05-06-2002, 06:33 PM I've seen Black Hawk Down and thought it was pretty good. Not amazing, but good. It was a war movie without any love story mixed in. If you don't like that kind of stuff then you won't like this movie.
