I have a godaddy domain name I want to sell to a buyer. I am going to do it through the control panel (domain transfer) myself. This particular domain has private registration. When I transfer the domain to the buyer... is there anyway the buyer can see who I am (my personal information, name, address, phone, etc??) ??? I want to remain annonymous. Thanks for your help.

That's going to be impossible, I think.

Firstly you should check whether you need to remove the privacy if you push a domain to somebody elses account. GoDaddy makes you remove privacy for a transfer away from Godaddy, but I don't know what their policy is with transfers between accounts other than the fact that the privacy isn't transferrable.

Secondly, you need to get the registrant information from the buyer. So, unless they voluntarily send you an email with there registrant information via tdnam (GoDaddy's auction arm) you will need to request that information from the buyer. It's usually more normal for the buyer to wait for the email request from the seller, in my experiences.

Thirdly. What happens to emails sent to the privacy email address? Do you ever receive them? Or do they simply go into the bit-bucket?

If you can do these things, then it might be possible to remain private from the buyer.

Finally, If you remove the privacy, your domain will be locked for 60 days when you will be unable to effect a transfer.

As a ray of light, there might be some hope, because I believe I have bought domains at tdnam which had privacy, but I did receive an email from the seller.

Yes I have dealt with the 60 day transfer policy. I normally try not to use them on names I sell

Is it feasible to just log inside the account and change the details to the buyer if
the account involves only one domain name without affecting others?

Well, how does the seller receive the buyer's registrant info? This'll only happen if the buyer clicks on "Send Seller Email" voluntarily in their tdnam account. If he doesn't do that, then the buyer has to request that information (which is the more normal way of doing it).

I like the concept of protecting privacy yet I am hesitant. Personally I would have a problem doing business with a company that has their identify hidden on their domain name.
