View Full Version : Web design + programming needed
zoz123 05-03-2002, 05:52 AM Hi all..
Our website plans new design and content management using PHP, we need to be like big sports websits like ESPN.COM, PLANETFOOTBALL.COM, FOXSPORTSWORLD.COM, ...ETC
We need elite designers/programers for this..
Our website is not HUGE, but its a content website, filled with daily soccer news, media clips, polls and surveys..etc.
What we will offer in return?:
we will place small button for your webdesign company permenantly (like: site besigned by ...).
Our website gets 30000 visitors permonth and they are increasing, with the proper design we will get our traffic boosted surely.
If you like to design our new website in exchange of advertising, please send e-mail to:
webmaster@egyptianplayers.com
we will let you know our ideas in detail...
Thanks in advance
Techark 05-03-2002, 06:06 AM if I build you a site and ad dynamic database driven content management like ESPN or CNN one that cost them tens of thousands of dollars, and would take at least a hundred hours of my time I get a little logo placement on your site.
Hmmmm let me think about that for a minute:eek:

zoz123 05-03-2002, 08:12 AM We won's be as HUGE as CNN, ESPN...but we want to be on same track and have same feel and concept:)
also. we cover news related to players (they are about 20 players), in addition we cover some miscellaneous news.we can't be compared to CNN in terms of content amount:D
NumLock 05-03-2002, 09:51 AM wish all the best, looks pretty hard for single freelancers to handle.
JDMundo 05-03-2002, 10:26 AM Elite programmer and designer.. Unless you either happen to know someone, can do it yourself or is extremely lucky finding a hugely talented newbie, that project could cost you at least $6-8,000, but more likely in the $10K+ range.
Depends on what you want to do. If your goal really is to provide a semi-competitor to those major sites, and you plan to make money from it, I wouldn't even bother with a non-perfect solution, it'll come back and bite you in the a...

NumLock 05-03-2002, 10:41 AM wow, instead of 10k you get a small button under everypage? isn't there alread a whole lot of other buttons in that same page? and what do u get? more, harder, increasing work from people who want u to spend all your day doing their site?
fuzogen 05-03-2002, 10:48 AM okay, can we just ignore this thread? Obviously, nobody's going to put in $10,000 worth of work for a button. Let's just be done with it and leave the poster to realize their own misteake. The best way to send a message would have been to let this thread persist till it's death with zero replies.
zoz123 05-03-2002, 11:07 AM We have already received offers..thanks
Anyway we host with a quality host for advertising...what you may find hard others find reasonable;)

The reason you are getting hammered by designs a bit, is that even if you paid a designer, the designer has the right to put that 'designed by' button/link/text on the site anyhow, as they are the creator of the work. But anyhow, if you've found someone who doesn't realize this, well then, all the best...
Personally, I would have appealed to beginning designers looking to build up their portfolios, much better angle...

till how much right does he have on it?
Chicken 05-03-2002, 04:41 PM 'Right' may have been a bit too strong of a term. The exact agreement will depend on the contract between the designer and the client.
This topic would be a bit far from the point of the thread, so instead I'll refer you to another thread where this was discussed (4 pages, but it covers the general idea):
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40290
-and let this thread continue, as the point is the original post, not copyright issues.
