If a server comes with that...

What does that mean exactly....? Does that mean, that someone could run up 900gigs with that server, and not have to pay a dime for the bw? run up 5 terabytes .... ?

or maybe i am misunderstanding.

someone please clarify.

If you maxed it all out, all the time, you would be able to use 3400 gb of bandwidth a month.

why only 3400

yeah 3400 would be about right, and it's rackshack right? so be warned they run all their 10 mbps servers strictly on the cogent connection, not a flame but if you have a beef with cogent then you shouldn't get it.

Because thats the maximium amount of data that you could transfer monthly at 10 mb/s

itslike owning a road everybody wants to use, rackshack own the road and rent it out for you to make money on. you pay them a fixed monthly fee for renting the road, it had a fixed speed limit and fixed number of lanes. you can only push so many cars down it, and you charge whatever you want per car.

the difference between 10mbps unmetered and 100mbpsburstable with a gb limit is that for the latter rackshack give you 10 times the number of lanes and allow you 400 cars a month for free, after that they charge per car. the benefit being you can send more cars and they can go faster. the downside is you pay for any over your limit. with 10mbps you dont. youve paid it all up, but your limited to 10 mbps at any one time, so if you get too busy then you will get congestion.
