Um...yeah. Don't think there will be a host that will host ANY material, no questions asked. We do have to cover our arses ourselves.

I think your only place for a site like that will be on a host that allows Adult hosting.......those companies don't really care what you have up there....I think?

You also have to keep in mind, that even Adult hosts won't let you "host it NO MATTER WHAT!" because then they are basically giving you permission to host things like child pornography, etc.

Good luck finding someone, other than an adult host....

actually there is a BIG difference between simply controversial material and illegal material. Agreed, that there's a very fine line between the two, but any regular host may be able to host you, depending on of course the subject matter and the level of it's controversiality (is that a word:eek: )

Just remember that no matter how controversial your material is you have the right to free speech, our first amendment. As long as it's not illegal then EVERY host should keep your site live regardless of who asks them to take it down.

Some hosting companies are scared of Joe User and will take your site down at the first email they receive. Thats unfortunate.

not entirely true. Many countries do not have a "free speech amendment" and therefore you will need to pick a US based host and be a US citizen to take advantage of the right to free speech.

Also note, that just because a host denies you service does not give you the right to sue them in court because they are restricting your first amendment rights - they aren't.

They don't have the right to free speech on their web site, though. The host can allow or disallow whatever they want.

This is true. But as a US Citizen, you do have the right to free speech. All I was trying to point out was that if the host is good, they wont back down to threats by other visitors and will allow you to post your controversial views on your website. I used to work for a company that wouldn't back down and the site is still up to this day.

Again, this does not protect people from putting up an illegal web site. I assume this guy is also in the US.

You need to check up on what the First Amendment entitles you. It starts out...

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise therof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

You can find more and specific sections at: http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/data/constitution/amendment01/

This has very little to do with a host allowing or not allowing a site, though it could blur into that if the material was deemed 'illegal'.

Maybe it needs to be hosted without question NO MATTER WHAT. Because it is very controversial. This, or possibly a lack of WHT addiction, would explain the lack of reply from thread starter.

you might need to find a host in another country which would allow you to host that kind of material.
