In WHM -

Themes > clone a cPanel Theme > pick theme ( i recommend x or x2) > then choose a new name for it.

Or you can download a cPanel theme and edit it on your HDD.

Themes > Download a cPanel Themeball > pick theme

Currently I do not have access to my WHM for whatever reason... can someone attach the cPanel x2 theme here for me? Thank you!

Doesn't that violates cPanel's license agreement? There is a clause along the lines of 'the default themes can not be distributed', or something to that effect.

ok, so i've downloaded the x3 theme;
it's on my desktop as "x3.cptheme"

How do i edit this file?

tgweb,

Rename the .cptheme to .zip -- it's a normal archive file IIRC.

i get the error message:
winzip could not open the file because it does not seem to be a valid archive format. please re-download the file and try again.

did i do something wrong?
i just took the x3.cptheme file and re-named it x3.zip

Try the same method but using www.winrar.com?

Can anyone post documentation links about adding new content within the boxes, left column navigation?
