What is the best way for me to go about doing this?
I want to charge my clients a certain amount every month on a recurring basis. Now I already purchased an account with 2checkout (and they take care of that option).
So far so good.
I also want my clients to be able to register their domain names straight from my site. I know of directi.com and other similar companies.
BUT!
What I want is for my potential client to go on my site, search the WHOIS to see if the domain he/she is looking for is available, once he finds one he wants, he gets transfered to my 2checkout cart (which I tell him that he will get billed every month for a certain amount) and in exchange, he of course gets his new domain as well as hosting.
I dont know if I can do such a thing with directi.com or with any other domain reseller...
Any ideas, comments, opinions?
Thanking you in advance,
Ben

You will need to get a whois script from somewhere.. Personally I use wholite.cgi you can get it at www.2noc.com have them search it there if available fill out a registration form that is mailed to you then have that pass them on to a 2checkout payment link to pay for it.. Only downside to this is if you get your email too late and dont register it right away it might get taken.. I would suggest signing up with a reseller program that keeps there identity hidden like I think enom does this as well as a few others.. That would be your best bet.. Only thing is you usually have to pay for so many domains up front (like 50 I think) or pay a $150.00 - 250.00 setup fee...

thanks,
that's what I was thinking of doing (signing up with reseller) I dont mind paying up front in order to ba able to register domains, but I want to make sure I can set this up the way I want to. I cant make it too complicated...(so people really dont know much) and if they have to go here, then there, then here again, they might end up giving up....
They have to be able to
-search for available domain
-pick one
-use their credit card
-and from there they get billed monthly
(for the hosting as well as the domain registry)
Which reseller do you advice THAT WILL ENABLE ME TO DO THIS (I use 2checkout)? enom? directi?
thanks again

www.2noc.com doesn't work.
DomainofMyOwn.com offers this service:
http://www.domainofmyown.com/aff_why.htm
You pay $12 and can set your own mark-up.
Customers never leave your page...or so it would appear. ;)
Good Luck :)
