Ok i am about to choose between some hosts wich offer basic plans, i still a beginner and do want to put all my money into for now. So here are the host:

http://100megswebhosting.com/compare.html

http://www.modwest.com/webhosting/index2.phtml?ref=hostindex

http://www.webintellects.com

http://www.aplus.net

http://www.netbasiks.com/cnet/index.shtml

http://www.webintellects.com/?body_link=home

Sounds about right for the price

http://www.modwest.com/webhosting/i...l?ref=hostindex

Slightly on an expensive side, but by the looks of it they have more expenses with more advanced control panel and maybe they are paying more for their data center.

http://www.webintellects.com
I would prefer to see actual bandwidth allotment upfront instead of seeing unmetered traffic and digging through their website to find out exactly what is unmetered traffic. Price is not too prohibitive so ask them a question how much traffic exactly they will allow for free

http://www.aplus.net

Stay away from anything that says unlimited bandwidth HD space.
There aer no such thing as unlimited traffic. Unlimited e mails or subdomains maybe but not unlimited traffic.

Look ok to me

you duplicated this one

http://www.nexpoint.net/w2kspecial.php?ref=cnet

Again I prefer to see a hardcore number upfront instead of unmetered.

Disclaimer :). Those are my first impressions from visiting their sites. I don't know anything about those companies nor do I work for any of them. I work for another webhosting company :).

You should e mail to sales or support department of the company you interested in and ask questions about 30 day money back guarantee's up time guarantees and level of support they are providing. You should also figure out how much traffic your site will generate and budget accordingly :).

How about readyhosting.com and infinology.com?

readyhosting.com

Again, find out what exactly unmetered means :).

infinology.com

Virtual server sounds pretty good price is pretty good too for what they offer.

Again find out more about each company by searching this forum, asking customer support reps questions and visiting company's own forums to see what existing users have to say.

most of the plans seem correct, but stay away from anything that is unmetered or unlimited.

also note that some host have unlimited usage but with a cost added for it ( in otherwords the overage ). they define it very well and place it right infront of you. this way you find no strings attached.

We're currently searching for someone new too. BAD experiences with both Readyhosting and recently with Nexpoint. Readyhosting had a catastrophic crash that they attributed to hackers...things that make you go hmmm....worse yet, you had to find out by accident that your site was down. No notification until you flamed them. Then email crashed. We lost tons. And don't even get me started about support...hold times of 45 minutes plus! Email support NON existent. 3 day turnaround time for "trouble tickets" and then they closed them unresolved.

We've been with Nexpoint for a couple months and now they've lost email. Our email was down for 2 days because they allegedly were switching mail servers. When it came back up, any email sent or recieved within that time frame was gone. Their response "sorry for any inconvenience"!!!!!

So let me know who you find might be worthwhile. We just need someone who offers a couple hundred MB's, 20 or so POP's, FP extensions, and FTP. Doesn't have to be free!!!!

Anyone have any thoughts on MS bCentral or Sprint's Earthlink. They are boasting 24-7 support.

Thanks!

Have one of my sites with them them for a year:http://www.webintellects.com
Zero problems,great support,very good uptime.
Helped me out the few times I needed it.
Do not have to wait days for support.
Average support ticket 1.5 hours even on week-ends.
Down once for about 5 minutes!
No credit card problems.

I suggest you take a look at: www.valuablehost.com and www.cyberwings.com

Performance/Cost wise, I also suggest: www.byzhosting.com

Nevermind...I found it. But it looks to me as an ad site. I'm really not interested in being marketed right now. I've seen several lists of many different Hosts. I want real user opinions.

Thanks for your help though!

Ah, ok :) You could search the forum for hosts people had good comments about. This would give you a great deal of hosts to choose from.
