Join the club of all of us that have been emailing Matt for months regarding advertising. I am assuming that the advertising setup is changing now that RS took over. I would also assume that in the upcoming months HS will release all the new details.

I thought RS was going to remove the top banners and run with the pay for placement model in the advertising forums. I am sure I saw that somewhere from headsurfer.

I heard from someone that it cost US$450.00/mth to rotate your ad in the top section previously.

I can't really say the exact amount, but your looking at over $1k per month for a banner to be rotated - and this is in a pool of 10 other banners too.

Use the advertising link at the bottom to contact Robert for the specifics on pricing.

Yeah, I noticed that he put his own email address down there for it (a non-WHT.com address) the other day. Using an "old" link might be part of the problem, puggy.

I hope to do this too :)

I had asked Robert about this a couple of weeks ago. The rate is $1250 per month. It seems a little steep at first, but then when you consider the 75,000 daily targeted page views, it doesn't seem all that bad.

Pfft.. matt sold it and was making that much off banners...... geeze........ what a dope.....
</end rant>

I just had to.... that still eats me... :(

Maybe he was losing money even from the banners. That or he didn't sell them for quite as much.

I suppose... but with everything being given 2 him (server and all) i don't see how... but this is a subject for another thread....

Sent an email 3 times over the past month, no reply. I guess they don't want more advertisement income ..

Nothing against Matt, personally.....but it doesn't seem like it would be that hard to answer a few emails and setup an image to be rotated on the top of the page. From what I've seen, he doesn't appear to be too active with postings and things.

I'm going to have to agree with Daniel a little here....I don't understand why he sold it if he was making around $1k/month off of each ad thats at the top since he gets both servers free and his staff is all volunteer based. :rolleyes: Seems like for that kind of money for each ad, I would have FOUND time to answer emails and set people up. I can't imagine that it would take that much time....receive the email, write back, setup payment, and then add the code to the rotator....$1k/month for doing just that sounds pretty good to me. :rolleyes:

I doubt very much the ad_figure was $1250.00/mth.

Contact HeadSurfer over at RackShack. They are handling the advertising. A run of site rotation will cost you about $1000/mo ...

It used to be around $500

Here is the information we received back from WHT:

======

We have just taken over WHT last month and are working on our new advertising programs.

At this time, we will be offering 10 advertisers the opportunity to place banners on our site plus two placements that we reserve for trade opportunities.

Each advertiser would then get a minimum of 1/12th of the banner impressions. Currently, we're getting about 75,000 page views daily.

For one of these spots, the rate is $1250 per month. If you prepay a three month run, it would be $1100 per month, and a six month pre-paid run would be $800 per month. If you want "catagory exclusivity", other than web hosting and if available, you would need to add 50% to those rates.

It looks like we will only be filling about 7 of the advertising spots in May, so if this was teh case, you would get a share of these extra banner impressions.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Robert

That's funny because he told me it would be $1000/mo. Guess I should have taken him up on his offer then ;)

Hrrrmmmm . . . That's strange, makes us wonder what kind of a trick he's trying to pull here.

It is what it is. If you want to advertise; advertise. If you don't; don't.

Well seing as someone else has already stated the price, I can confirm it is $1250 - or at least that's what we were quoted.

ClineCOM

Matt,

That's what we were quoted, too.

Yet, others say they were quoted prices cheaper, so I suppose they raised the advertising price and finalized it?!
