Hello, everyone:
I currently own a Dedicated Linux RedHat 7.2 Server with CPanel/WHM. I love it, it's great but I don't know much about Linux at all.
I need to get a book to start learning it however, I need someone to help manage it for me like for security and such.
I'm looking to either pay someone a reasonable price to help.
Or...
To share the server with someone who is a braniac about this stuff and that can dedicate there time into optimizing it.
Bascially security and CPanel customization are the 2 biggies right now.
If anyone is interested in helping me out, please post to this forum or send me a PM.
Thanks!

I am about to purchase a server with Linux 7.2, although I know nothing about servers, as well as programming. I wanted a dedicated server because of the horror stories I have heard with shared hosting, and wanted my business done right. I have just ordered "Red Hat Linux 7.2 Bible Unlimited Edition" by Christopher Negus. The reviews were nice and it is costing me a mere $38.00, ordered through amazon.com.
I don't think I would trust someone I dont know to manage my server. Get some learning material, and ask questions on boards. I'm sure it will be challenging, as well as time consuming, but worth the investment.
Best of luck
Nawaz

Nawaz,
I'm not sure how much horsepower you need, but if your site isn't too resource intensive a great alternative is to either purchase a Cobalt RaQ4 or a dedicated server with Plesk or Ensim installed. Either route will allow you to enjoy the benefits of a dedicated platform while learning the OS with "training wheels"... that you can shed at any time.
Many, many folks on this board have learned the basics this way.

The bible is a good book... The linux bible is good too. :) That's what I used to learn Linux.

I would be very much interested in this, and if I were to not be able to do some things, I have another friend that will. Please contact me, and then we can discuss things further.
